Fusion X. Denver
So yeah, superheroes are/have been the new big thing that pop culture's focusing on. I'm sure we'll move on to something else soon like we did from vampires and zombies, but what do you guys think of them? Love them, don't care for them, got a favorite? Marvel or DC? LordCowCowCowCowCowCowCowCow
I love them, when they actually try to show them as people and don't pump powers after powers into them to make them better and "cooler" (Superman) Also I don't think we'll ever really not be at least partially focused on superheros. They represent something humanity wants, something stronger than them looking out for them, as well as showing that even those who seem out of reach and alien can be relate-able. Well, there's always been stories of heroes and people with super-powers (Heracles, Beowulf and Saint George come to mind), and I agree with you that those ideas may never fully go. Even if the superheroes of modern comics and television have greater technology and sometimes more unusual powers, it is still more or less the same kind of thing. Of course, these ideas could change as technology gets ever more powerful and the Earth's natural resources dwindle, yet it could become even more important. Personally, I don't watch/read superhero stories much, but I do enjoy inventing superheroes. Trying to think of wacky 'powers' (even if they are just completely rubbish) is pretty fun. Susie
i feel like the only person who really just grew out of the whole superhero phase thing. as a kid of course i was really into Batman, Spiderman, X-Men, Fantastic Four etc. but ever since around the age of 14 or 16 i just got tired of them and lost all complete interest. i wont say anything bad about the movies since i can tell the movies are mostly well written and definitely interesting for those who care, but its just no longer my cliche and all i can get out of the world of Marvel and DC is boredom. ill admit that Guardians of the Galaxy was sorta entertaining but thats just because for me it felt more like a space themed action-comedy as opposed to a full-on superhero adventure, still not that big of a fan of it but i can admit to enjoying it enough for me to give it a thumb of approval.
