Outer Entity Sothoth
Rank 4 EARTH
Fiend/Xyz/Effect
2 Level 4 monsters
You can also Tribute Summon this card (from the Extra Deck) by Tributing two monsters you control. If this card is Tribute Summoned, its Rank becomes 8 and its original ATK becomes 3000. Once per turn, if this card was Xyz Summoned: You can detach an Xyz Material from this card and target a Spell/Trap your opponent controls; if that card is face-up, it's effects are negated; otherwise that card cannot be activated while you control this face-up monster.
ATK 1800/ DEF 1400

So the inspiration for this card's effect is that it is thought that Lovecraft based Yog-Sothoth off of the Spheres of the Qliphoth; so I thought to based the effects off of Qli monsters.

That's how the card was designed when he submitted it for that 1v1 against Dragon Sage; it was intentional.

(Read the note underneath about being Qli support)

I'll just copy+paste my voting post.

If it didn't have the Tribute Summon thing, then I'd probably would have a better opinion on this.

As mentioned, it does screw up the ED mechanic by Tribute Summoning itself for whatever reasons from the Extra Deck, although it just becomes a 3K vanilla if you do.

(So yeah, moving this to Experimental, given that it does violate mechanics)

If you Xyz Summon it properly, you can either negate its effect or lock it down while this card exists.

However, it is still a generic Rank 4 that can lock down stuff; in a way similar to Fiendish for face-up S/T or a limited version of Denko.

If you wanted this to work with Qlis, not sure if they want to run this card as-is.

They can use it to generate a 3K beater given their P-Summoning for Tributes + stuff, but what does it accomplish outside of being a vanilla?
