Just a tool for faster Rank2 plays in Malicevorous. Kinda bland and not too special.

 

Malicevorous Spatula

Attribute: DARK

Type: Fiend/Effect

Level: 2

If this card is Normal or Special Summoned: You can add 1 "Malicevorous" card from your Deck to your hand, except "Malicevorous Spatula". You can only use this effect of "Malicevorous Spatula" once per turn. An Xyz Monster that was Summoned with this card as an Xyz Material gains this effect.

• When it is Xyz Summoned: It gains 1000 ATK and DEF.

 

Now it's getting interesting: Basically a Seraph Scepter for Malicevorous, except that it doesn't grant pluses when used as Xyz material. Instead, it increases the Xyz's stats. Even when not making #65: Djinn Buster, who would reach a decent 2300 ATK, it can turn other Rank2s into bigger threats, such as a 3000-ATK Centaurea, 2400-ATK Socutebooss who can pick on bigger monsters, 2500-ATK double attacker Phoenix , or maybe go for a wall and drop a 3200-DEF Gachi (adding its own DEF-boosting effect).

 

Notice how the clause on the effect has "with this card" instead of "using this card" as seen on Star Drawing, Extra Sword, etc. This is to, in theory, enable the card to grant the stat boost to Xyz-evolved or Ranked-Up Xyzs.

Rank-Up Magic Malicevorous Hunger

Spell Card

Type: Normal

Target 1 Rank 2 or lower Xyz Monster you control; Special Summon, from your Extra Deck, 1 monster with the same Type and Attribute as that monster you control but 1 Rank higher, by using that target as the Xyz Material. (This Special Summon is treated as an Xyz Summon. Attached Xyz Materials also become Xyz Materials on the Summoned monster.). During your turn, except the turn this card was sent to the Graveyard: You can banish this card from your Graveyard, then target 1 "Malicevorous" monster in your Graveyard; Special Summon that target.

 

And this is what should take Malicevorous to the next level. Searchable by the above Spatula and that means... not only it can make the Summon of C65:Overlord King a.k.a. Majesty's Fiend much easier, but also Summon it with 2600 ATK; so yeah, I believe this play alone can potentially lead Malicevorous to jump 1 or 2 tiers.

#65 plays aside, this also gives Malicevorous access to C65: Dark Storm (for whatever that's worth), you can play it as an Astral Force lite for Rank1~2 decks and tech Spatula to search it.

The last effect further helps Malicevorous to regain field presence and potentially drop another Rank2 to stay on the game. It can also revive Spatula and trigger its effect, so you can search a second Malicevorous RUM.

I really like the RUM. Not only does it give a nice flavor to summoning BURAKKU STOHM, but also having an on-hand summon for your Stratos is not at all a bad thing. They all mesh together really well, and help give the archetype cohesion, something that they really lack. What I'd like to see is an in-theme Xyz(s) for them. even though they have king overfiend and Black Mist, I feel like they need something more central to what they themselves do.

So, an archetype Xyz, hmm... it didn't cross through my mind because, as you mention, I saw #65 as their go-to/boss monster, but it is a nice idea. However, at the moment I have no clue what this xyz could do. Malicevorous seem to focus on grave revival, but giving this kind of effect to their xyz may be bland and encourage overextension/overkills. I may think of something eventually.
