Hello YCM (I said, young man!.. Yeah yeah, I know it's not YMCA.) citizens! Today, I came with an incomplete archetype that I wish to complete someday. I only made 5 cards so far and they're just descriptions, but I'll get to them once I'm done with the cards itself so it's just copy-pasting. So, without further ado, I present to you, the Sleeping Beasts!

Slumber Beast series – Gemini
Lots of these monsters have very high atk/def as well as decent card effects for the most part, but you can only get those after summoning them twice, otherwise they have very low stats with no effect what-so-ever. Pendulum, XYZ, Synchro and Fusion available. The main theme of this archetype is beings with hidden/sealed power that is meant to be unleashed at a later time. Until then, they will be in their weak forms.

---MONSTERS---

Slumber Beast - A.N.O.M.A.L.Y [E]
Rank 5
[Machine/XYZ/Gemini]
2 Level 5 Monsters
This card is treated as a Normal Monster while face-up on the field or in the Graveyard. While this card is treated as a Normal Monster, its original ATK and DEF are 400. While this card is face-up on the field, you can Normal Summon it to have it become an Effect Monster with this effect:
 - All monsters in your field with “Slumber Beast” in their name are able to deal damage to a monster in DEF position.
[ATK/2800] [DEF/2400]

Slumber Beast – Bloodlust Legend [D]
Level 8
[Warrior/Fusion/Gemini]
“Slumber Beast – Seething Darkness” + 1 Warrior/Beast-warrior
This card is treated as a Normal Monster while face-up on the field or in the Graveyard. While this card is treated as a Normal Monster, its original ATK and DEF are 300. While this card is face-up on the field, you can Normal Summon it to have it become an Effect Monster with this effect:
- Discard 1 card in your hand to destroy 2 monsters on the field.
[ATK/3200] [DEF/2600]

Slumber Beast – Risky Gambler [F]
Level 10
[spellcaster/Synchro/Gemini]
1 “Slumber Beast” FIRE Tuner + 1 or more non-Tuner monsters
This card is treated as a Normal Monster while face-up on the field or in the Graveyard. While this card is treated as a Normal Monster, its original DEF is 500. While this card is face-up on the field, you can Normal Summon it to have it become an Effect Monster with this effect:
- When this card is summoned as an Effect Monster, roll 1 die. Deal damage to the opponent multiplied to the die and the amount of monsters on your field.
[ATK/1800] [DEF/2800]

---SPELLS/TRAPS---

Forced Awakening
[Continuous]
While this card is face-up on the field, all face-up monsters with “Sleeping Beast” in their name will count as gemini summoned. Discard 1 card from your hand at the end of your turn or this card is destroyed.

Forced Sleeping Seal
[Trap]
If a “Sleeping Beast” is targeted by a monster or an effect, activate this card. Destroy all cards on the field except for the targeted monster. Both players get damage for each card destroyed on their field x100. The targeted monster now goes in defense mode and goes back as a Normal Monster. Can only be used once per game.

Some of the wording is weird but I am not good at that stuff so I will not fix that. On the contrary though, the effect of "Slumber Beast- Risky Gambler" is incomplete. You never state what to multiply by, unless if you mean the number you roll and the cards on the field. But if so then even in the best of cases that would only be 78 damage which is pretty bad. Now if it was "deal 100 damage to your opponent multiplied by the number rolled and the amount of cards you control" that 78 would then be 1900 damage ((13+6)×100=1900) that would be a good amount. Other than that and the wording this idea is pretty interesting. I like how the monsters are weaker at first then they gain to be better. Also you can play with a loop hole. If you special summon the monsters first, like the fusion, XYZ, ect, without normal summoning that turn. You can then normal summon it that turn to have the effect.

In all I rate this, so far, as a 4 out of 10. Reasoning is that the Att and Def are so low that it would be hard to wait a turn to boost it up with out special summoning a monster. Also with gemini cards it takes a bit to long to get get the effects to go off if you don't draw the right cards. Now if you have more cards, like equip cards, that give the monsters their effect that would help a lot. Or even a card to search out "Forced Awakening" it would help. Personally I think you should have a field card that has a simular effect of "Forced Awakening" and give the monsters another boost. For an example it could make it that the monsters can make a second Att but they deal half the damage. By doing this you make it so you can search for the card easier and makes the deck harder to compete against.

I hope this helps you out with your deck.
