Lunar Origins
I believe that this thread should probably be locked, but for my sake I'd like to give my two cents. Darkness, what you did was... despicable and low. Perhaps even one of the lowest things you could have done here; YCM is not a hateful community and you can be sure that no one harbored any ill feelings of you before then. Maybe you were obsessed with what people think of you. That's okay; I know of a lot of people here who are (I'm looking at you, Striker). But the way to go about gaining sympathy for yourself isn't through false suicide, or creating another identity to do so (been there, done that.) That just fucks with our hearts, because of course we care about you. You're a member of our community and we support each other through thick and thin. So, as someone who has been on the brink of death and suicide multiple times before and who experiences self esteem issues the likes of which have never been seen, you do need to go seek professional help. Resorting to these methods, hell, even over the internet on a children's card game forum, is not healthy. Never will be. People are riled up now, so I'd advise you to stay away from here for a little while before returning. You've done what you can, but that won't be enough. ~British Soul~
I also want to give my two cents on this;I'm sorry Darkness, but what you did, by faking suicide was unacceptable, despicable, low etc. It's one of the lowest things I have ever seen quite frankly and I'm ashamed to have offered my condolences towards something that actually didn't happen, because I genuinely thought you died and now I'm a bit peeved to find out that it was a lie. At least you were the bigger man and apologised for your actions, but I'm still disappointed in what you done tbh, toying with people's emotions and stuff and gaining their sympathy. Catman25
The onus is not on us to forgive, but at the same time, we should not expect to fully understand the reasons behind the decisions. Anger is a necessary reaction, but I don’t think to the extent that some of you are showing. If you were personally invested, or, by the nature of the action, negatively affected, then I think you can feel a little more uninhibited rage. But ultimately, I don’t think it’s that black and white. We look at the Oregon shooting (I don’t mean to associate the two events, nor did I want the main point to be that murder is objectively a worse action than faked suicide; apologies Darkness if this is out of bounds, but I believe it provides a relevant analogy). We should of course feel anger towards the shooter. But Obama and a majority of the outcries direct the focus to the main problem, that being gun control. And maybe it's the initial reaction, anger. But with so many shootings that have occurred, America is beginning to see the major issues, instead of just the faces behind it all. Offering constructive criticism I think is the right idea. You don’t have to forgive, or forget, but how does Darkness move forward, how do we move forward, and how can stuff like this be prevented (in this case, mental health wise, which many of you have brought up).
