When this card battles: It gains 500 ATK during damage calculation only. If this card would destroy a monster by battle, you can: Target 1 Spell/Trap card your opponent controls; Destroy that target, and if you do, banish both those cards instead. Once per turn, when a "Blitz Dragon" monster is Normal Summoned: You can tribute this card to Normal Summon 1 additional "Blitz Dragon" monster this turn.

When this card is Normal Summoned: You can add 1 "Blitz Dragon" monster from your deck to your hand, except "Arrow Blitz Dragon". Once per turn, you can discard 1 card and target 1 other "Blitz Dragon" monster you control; This turn, all monsters you control gain the following effect: • This card's level becomes equal to the level of the targeted monster.

If your opponent controls a monster and you control no monsters, you can Special Summon this card (from your hand). When this card battles a monster: It gains 500 ATK during damage calculation only. You can only Special Summon Thunder-type monsters. When this card is used as Xyz Material for the Xyz Summon of a "Blitz Dragon" monster: You can target 1 Spell/Trap card on the field; Destroy it, and if you do, banish it. You can only activate this effect of "Vowing Blade Blitz Dragon" once per turn.

When this card destroys a monster by battle: You can special summon 1 Thunder-type monster from your graveyard in face-up Defense Position.

All monsters your opponent controls lose 200 ATK for each card they control during their turn. All monsters you control gain 200 ATK for every card your opponent controls during your turn. Once per turn, you can reduce the level of all "Blitz Dragon" monsters in your hand equal to the number of "Blitz Dragon" monster you control. This card's effects are negated if you do not control a Thunder-type monster.

2 Level 4 Thunder-type monsters
When this card battles a monster: It gains 500 ATK during damage calculation only. When this card attacks: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card; Target 2 cards your opponent controls; Your opponent chooses 1 of those targets and destroys it, and if they do, banish it. When this card is Xyz Summoned: You can banish 1 card you control; Add 1 "Blitz Dragon" card from your deck to your hand.

2 Level 5 LIGHT Monsters
This card gains 200 ATK for every banished card. Once per turn, during either player's turn when a card is destroyed: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card; Banish that card, and if you control another "Blitz Dragon" monster, you can draw 1 card.

2 Level 5 "Blitz Dragon" monsters
This card's effects are negated if it has no Xyz Materials. When this card battles, your opponent can choose 1 card they control and banishes it. If they do not, this card is unaffected by all other card effects, also your opponent cannot activate cards or card effects until the end of that battle. During your opponent's turn only: All monsters they control lose ATK equal to their Rank/Level x100. During each End Phase, detach 1 Xyz Material from this card.

3 Level 5 LIGHT Monsters
This card is unaffected by the effects of monsters with lower ATK. Once per turn: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card; Reduce the ATK of all other monsters equal to the ATK of the detached monster. All other "Blitz Dragon" monsters gain 300 ATK for each unocuppied monster zone your opponent has during your turn only.

So I'm guessing Thunder Seahorse is meant to be able to target most of these, but besides the few SS effects/additional summon effects, isn't it a bit slow?

Because like, Vowing works, but that needs no monsters while opponent has at least one, and then the first one needs to have a NS while it's already on the field to be able to tribute it for the additional NS, and only Blazing Scythe seems sort of viable, since it has a decently high attack which is further supported by the effect/field, and battle destruction allows for more SS, but only from GY, so...

I feel like I'm missing something?

Oh right, the Hunders.

Yeah, that'd get them out really quick.

I really like the Xyz, because it /sort of/ gives your opponent options, both of which are bad for them, and forces them to pick, allowing for more creativity in what can actually happen instead of only one effect that can always happen.

The archetype look solid, and I didn't detect any cards or combos that could be too problematic, except for:

Vowing Blade attach effect --> Thunder Cannon detach effect looks really nasty. I would cut the card draw effect from the Xyz to not generate too many pluses.

 

I suspect the ATK boosts/reduction from the Field Spell may be a bit too high, and should greatly discourage the opponent from playing its backrow, Continuous Spell/Traps and whatnot, considering that with 4 cards on the field you are gaining a bonus equal to Solidarity, but without the monotype drawback. Personally, I suggest to drop the ATK changes to 100 x each card so it won't reach overwhelming numbers.

Vowing to Thunder Cannon is basically an MST play that nets you a card. Considering you went through the effort you went through to make the Rank 5, I'd say it's comparatively fair. If it does prove too much during testing I'd gladly change it though.

 

As for the Field Spell, I was originally considering using 100 x each card, buuuuut.... At that point you're better off just running the gain 500 ATK lose 400 DEF attributal field spell. But idk, maybe it is overwhelming.
