Somehow, i'm interested in the NormalDragon.dek, especially BEWD.dek and then i saw this awesome card . . .

[spoiler= '']

RideroftheStormWinds-SDBE-EN-C-1E.png

Rider of the Storm Winds

LIGHT/Level 1

Dragon/Tuner

You can target 1 Dragon-Type Normal Monster you control; equip this monster from your hand or your side of the field to that target. If a monster equipped with this card attacks a Defense Position monster, inflict piercing battle damage to your opponent. If a monster equipped with this card would be destroyed, destroy this card instead.

500/400

So . . . why only 1 Dragonrider here? (Aside from Draconia or maybe Gaia Knight.)

That's why i'm interested to create a small archetype revolving around it and creates small support for them so yes . . . let's take a look:

Dragon/Tuner

You can target 1 Dragon-Type Normal Monster you control; equip this monster from your hand or your side of the field to that target. If a monster equipped with this card would be banished, destroy this card instead.

600/100

Rider of the Storm Bolts

LIGHT/Level 1

Dragon/Tuner

You can target 1 Dragon-Type Normal Monster you control; equip this monster from your hand or your side of the field to that target. If a monster equipped with this card attacks, negate your opponent's cards or effects until the end of the Damage Step. If a card or effect is activated that would target the equipped monster; negate the effect and if you destroy this card.

400/300

Rider of the Storm Caller

LIGHT/Level 1

Dragon/Tuner

You can target 1 Dragon-Type Normal Monster you control; equip this monster from your hand or your side of the field to that target. If a monster equipped with this card destroy a monster by battle; banish 1 random card from your opponent's hand face-down. If a monster equipped with this card would be returned to hand or shuffled to Deck, destroy this card instead.

300/400

You can also Xyz Summon this card by using "Everlasting Dark Dragon" equipped with Tuner monster. This card gains the following effects based on the number of Tuner monster equipped to this card. ● 1 or more: Cannot be destroyed by battle. ● 3 or more: This card can attack twice during the same Battle Phase. ● 5: Any Battle Damage this card inflict to your opponent's Life Points is doubled.

Spell/Quick-Play

Storm Riders Formation

Spell/Continuous

You can only use each effect of "Storm Riders Formation" once per turn.
● You can target 1 "Rider of the Storm" monster equipped to a monster you control; Special Summon it to your side of the field.
● During the End Phase of a turn in which "Rider of the Storm" monster is destroyed by its own effect and sent to the Graveyard; you can add it to your hand.

I'm not sure if the list will grow (should i add Boss Monster?) or maybe add another support for them (as for now, no Trap Card added.)

As for the name of each card, well . . . like i said before (on other topic) i'm not that good at naming something so yes . . . if you suggests name change, i really appreciate it.

Suggestion, criticisms and anything that would improve this small archetype and make them more balanced or look enjoyable to play is much much appreciated~ ^w^

You can make the riders more flexible by adding a SS effect while equiped like the buster blader support (i mean they are tuners after all)

On the lightning rider, maybe you can put another effect, like adding or recycling resources, but the boost is a bit unecessay, blue eyes has already enough stats that effect can be used to help with consistency. But really cool idea you had with the riders

What about Continuous Spell instead? If i make them has "Phalanx"-like effect, seems unfair (since the Storm Winds doesn't.)

That's the whole point, we have Storm Winds for piercing damage, Storm Lightning for sky high ATK, Storm Bolts for a quick stun during attacks, and Storm Caller for minus . . . combine all and you can deal thousands of damage.

Consistency? Define what consistency you mean @.@ (since i think the Field already helps with consistency, i may be wrong of course)

So yes, i'll add more (and mostly bosses) in the near future~

i dont understand what you meant with the continuos spell part

Yes the field spell helps the consistency, but its a 1 for 1 (thas fine though). what i meant is you invest many of your cards to summon BEWD and equip it with the riders, if you are not equiped with correct rider you could lose them all. I was suggesting a plus (like if it destroys a monster draw 1 card or something like that)

im looking forward to the bosses

That aside the targeting protector is worded wrong, being targeted works different from banishing, shuffling or being destroyed, all those happen at resolution, targeting happens before you can respond with something, you tecnically would be destroying the rider for nothing as will not prevent whatever effect the targeting effect had. Not to mention that it would destroy itself if you equip BEWD with a new rider.

If im not mistaken it should be:

Before resolving an opponent's card effect that targets a monster equiped with this card, you can negate the effect, then destroy this card.

Vanillas are rarely used these days....even though the cards gives positive effects to them, especially Lightning which can deal severe damage to the opponent

a Question aren't these cards also categorized as Union monsters?

I give you example of original card this archetype's based off up there? (Rider of the Storm Winds)

It looks like a Union Monster but it's actually not (You see up above? just Dragon/Tuner, similar to Gwenhwyfar, Queen of Noble Knights and the rest)

The difference is, Union Monster "must be" on the field in order to be equipped with certain monsters while Rider of the Storm Winds and Gwenhwyfar can be equipped from your hand or Graveyard respectively. But Union monsters can be equipped or unequipped while these cards not (exception with Phalanx or Dragon Buster Blade)

So, it's not a Union Monsters but has similar mechanic with them.

These cards has it's upside and downside, the upside is it can be equipped instantly and quickly, thus making it effective and efficient, the downside is that once it is equipped to one monster, It cannot be moved elsewhere,

Q: Is there a stacking limit to the amount of cards equipped to one monster?

Q: Where is the location of these cards when it is equipped to a monster?(Monster Card Zone, Spell, Under the monster, etc)?

Updated*

> Added the Boss monsters (Vanilla and Xyz) since i don't want "Always summon BEWD" play, that's why i added another vanilla boss monster and a lil' story behind it.

> Also Spell Continuous with an effect as suggested by JuanoGS11.

> Fix some wording (regarding Storm Bolts) thx to JuanoGS11 again.

These cards has it's upside and downside, the upside is it can be equipped instantly and quickly, thus making it effective and efficient, the downside is that once it is equipped to one monster, It cannot be moved elsewhere,

a. Q: Is there a stacking limit to the amount of cards equipped to one monster?

b. Q: Where is the location of these cards when it is equipped to a monster?(Monster Card Zone, Spell, Under the monster, etc)?

a. No stacking limit, that's why each of Storm Riders has a different effects and protection for our beloved Dragon-Type vanilla monsters, and if you equip all the 4 Storm Riders to a monster (presumably via the Xyz Boss), *gulp* prepare to have a boss monster "nearly invincible" and ready to OTK'd your opponent's~ (reminds me of NK's huh?)

b. I assume you never play'd using NK's and Gwenhwyfar . . . (try it, Noble Knights is fun to use, but don't play like "just sitting with Kings and wait".) Like all monsters that can be equipped to other monsters, it is placed in your Spell/Trap Zone as an Equip Spell Cards (as for Storm Riders, you can equip it instantly from hand or field.) Like i said before, it has similar mechanics with Union Monsters but it's slightly different.

These decks can bring back the reign of "Blue Eyes White Dragon", in the beginning of time..

Storm Riders Formation is useful, since it can "negate" the destruction of the equip monsters and bring them back to hand, plus it can move the Storm Riders cards with ease if the player wants to set a magic card but all the zones are full

Not only that, since all of the Storm Riders are Tuner, you can Synch it with your BEWD or any monster on your field (preferable are Azure-Eyes)
