Tinkerer
Hello, fine peoples! So yesterday I sat down and said to myself:"Self, you are going to make an archetype of the first game that pops into your brain."Of course, my brain was a dick and thought "Chutes and Ladders". So I sighed and just made Dominoes. This archetype is very repetitive, but there is a reason for that, the monsters are supposed to be played Highlander-Style (only one copy of each). There was several routes I was planning on going, but, in the end, I decided to try to keep the spirit of how it is played while adding a specific twist to specific levels. Since most of the cards are grouped and say the same thing, I won't post each card individually, but as a collective group (it'll make sense once you see 'em). [spoiler Dominoes 0/1-0/6]Domino Nil-XXXEARTH (Level X)Rock/EffectIf you control a "Domino" monster with "Nil" or "XXX" in its name, you can Special Summon this card from your Hand in defense position next to that monster. During your End Phase, you can send up to 3 "Domino" monsters from your Deck to the Graveyard. If this card leaves the field, you can add 1 "Domino" monster from your Graveyard to your Hand. You cannot activate this card's effects if another "Domino Nil-XXX" is on your side of the field or in your Graveyard.0/X00 (The Xs are replacing the other number on the Domino. So, if this card was "Domino Nil-One", it would be level 1, have 100 DEF, and any "XXX"s in the card's effect would be changed to the word "One". Same thing with Two, Three, etc.) [spoiler Dominoes 1/2-1/6]Domino One-XXXEARTH *Rock/EffectThis card is also treated as level X. If you control a "Domino" monster with "One" or "XXX" in its name, you can Special Summon this card from your Hand in defense position next to that monster. Once per turn, you can send 2 "Domino" monsters from your Deck to the Graveyard; this card cannot be targeted until your next Standby Phase. (Well... more boosts. Essentially, with the monsters' boosts, Dominoes gain 300 ATK/DEF per card in the Grave and this one can dump 2 a turn. ♪ ♪Aria ♪ ♪
The idea,...It's like a stacking flow of dominoes which summons consecutively, but since the stats are low individually, this deck is hard to play and a broken sequence will plunge it into demise.... Still, the idea is pretty unique, but the low stats and protection makes it hard to survive
Notthefreakingme
Pretty unique but what i don't get is why you didn't protect them more. They should have more protection to get their plays going cause if they are it inn any way, its pretty hard for them to get back up without help. Tinkerer
Thanks for the CnC, peeps! I wanted to try to keep in in flavor as much as possible. I guess I could offer some extra protection for the monsters since their average ATK strength would probably hover somewhere near 1500, but they also have flexibility on their side. The playstyle I envision for this deck is somewhat like Ojamas, Deskbots, or Batterymen in that they usually bide their time until the setup is complete before exploding. In a similar way, those three aforementioned decks don't really have much in the way of protection either. ...All that said, I am open to making some protective spells/traps, and the Domino Double monsters (that I'll put up tomorrow), all have their own protection effects as well. Thanks again!
