Momentum Eater

EARTH - Rank 6 - Wyrm/Xyz/Effect - ?/?

3 Level 6 monsters

This monster's original ATK is equal to 400 times the number of Xyz Material on this card. During each of your End Phases, detach 2 Xyz Material from this card, and destroy all other cards on the field. When a monster would be sent to the Extra Deck, attach it to this monster as Xyz Material instead. When this monster destroys your opponent's monster by battle, attach it to this monster as Xyz Material after conducting damage calculation.

This is essentially a way to kill the momentum of Pendulum monsters in a way that makes their core mechanic their greatest downfall- like Xyz monsters' not having Levels being held against them on occasion. I admit, not the most creative way to do this, but hey, you do what works.

At least, that's my interpretation of the effect. If you mean for the other 2 to activate, just put colons in the place of commas

And now for the card. Well then, this certainly is pendulum hate at its finest. Not only that, but also psyframes since omega loves to recycle itself. Good for you for unintentionally hitting frames in the face. However, the card by itself won't be very strong on its initial summon, since it only gains 400 per mat, so a whopping 1200 is the original attack. Woo. Also, the materials are a bit hard to come by iirc. The only thing that can consistantly spit out lvl 6s are Hazy Flames and Fluffals, and either they don't do it enough or don't want to. While this card is good at what it does, it won't come out very often, if even at all. I'd recomened boosting the gain to perhaps 700 per mat, and make the requirements easier so that this can get out easier, by either lowering the number of mats needed or lowering the rank for petalmeow access.

In all honesty, this is a poorly designed card and won't be very useful in counteracting Pendulums. There's something good in there, but big changes are needed.

The summoning requirement is far too high. Like Kinka-Byo said, very few decks can reliably summon it. If you do manage summon this card, it'll be too late, and the momentum's already going strong.

Nuking the field during the End Phase I'm okay with. Although, most Pendulum decks can respond to this effect or have protection cards, so you do need to consider that.

It's far too easy to play around, especially when Pendulum decks have access to so many options (Vortex Dragon, Unicorn, Majespecter S/T, R4 staples).

I know this is a bit harsh, but I do feel this card needs to be completely rethought to work. Right now it's a lot of commitment for something that hurts weak decks more than it does meta Pendulum ones.

I specifically avoided the dreaded colon, because that indicates an effect can be interrupted, or can miss timing- that was something I was trying to avoid at all costs.

Regarding how Majespecter have an out to this simply by existing, I was under the impression that they were gone for the most part- I haven't seen an honest-to-goodness Majespecter player in a while.

Regarding the R6, that was simply to make it slightly harder to access, as an OPT field nuke that can also increase its presence on a turn-by-turn basis was something I thought might be a little broken even for this meta. Obviously, I was mistaken.

To be perfectly honest, I only saw the problem as Pendulums using their infinite recurring powers for fun and profit, via things like Wavering Eyes, and thought something like this to eat the Scales they pop might be a little more threatening.

All in all, I was setting my sights too low. Perhaps 700 per card (making it an instant 2100/2100 beater, potentially more if there's fodder for it to eat) would be better, but I'm still unsure.
