Essentially, they are Dinosaur-type Normal Pendulum monster that obstacle Dragon-type monsters (including Pendulums). They may be OP, so CnC are really appreciated (hoping someone reads this ç_ç)

Here are the cards!

(Artworks are from JazinKay's Gallery and from Monster Hunter)

Once per turn, during either player's turn: You can destroy 1 Dinosaur-type Pendulum Monster on the field; change the battle position of up to 2 monsters on the field. how do i begin... a archetype of anti-type that (personally, i'm sorry) i find it slightly hilarious and ironic that they kinda also support Dragon-type in your possession a bit (i hope its a typo). don't get me wrong i do like this, it draw a parallel of real live historical people that refer dinosaur fossil as dragon bones in past. the art also looks amazing (well its monster hunter cool and vanguard/duel master? i forgot)

in general: Species-specific effect (well i can write type-specific.., more fun this way) is on the underside in term of usabilty. look at  Ally of Justice archetype for example, even with 1/6 chances at worst and one of popular attribute beside DARK. being a solely anti-LIGHT still make them hard to play even with decent amount of bonus effect slapped into them. now back to Pseudragon-Dinodragon, despite konami favoritsm toward dragon type either by number or support quality (which they have a ton, so i understand the Dragon "hate" aspect) it still only make an impact to about 5% of all card pool of the current game. well we do have real live archetype of anti-species in form of Buster Bladers and luckily, just like Buster Blader you happen to have an archetype specific card that augmented monster Species without relying on DNA Surgey (we get on that later)

they do have decent if not really durable stat in correlation of all of them being Level/Rank 6+ that mostly always recurring , be careful with it

now individualy:

Oplites: it has potential since it search effect is generic which mitigate the heavy restriction of pendulum member search effect ,its tag-protection effect is nice, and its a tuner to splash synchro tech . on first glance 2nd effect is bit excessive...but since it species specific i let it pass

Toxotes: another 1 time searcher, make Arrival,World, Salvage live faster. mostly Arrival, since its your main researcher other than Oplites.

Egemon: 1 of the ironic side member that actually help Dragons (or it this? LoL, i can't help to wonder that it it maybe a typo and you actually want to wrote dinosaur instead) if its true though it only help to summon Amorphage Irritium alone and its counter productive with archetype Scale-Level correlation. so its just another body and fooder on the board.

Boiotarches: another Species-augmenter that help to achieve bonus effects. its a strong defender.

Etairos: now i find this a bit excessive. this archetype starting to have a ton of searcher that gradualy will always +1 investment. and also happen more generic at the time. remember that all of your monster have enough body to overwhelm opponent fast

Peltastes: board popper that boost your heavy-stat-ed monster possibly to OTK level. Pro: you can target your own (augmented) monster , Con: luckily  its Species restricted

Strategos: once per turn Dragon repelant. kinda ok

World: our main player of species-augmenter its kinda sad that it only apply to your turn only render the effects that usually happen on your opponent turn obsolete. easy to search and deploy. its 2nd effect can be used to increase the number of pendulum monster to flood your opponent while tagging out member for another one with stronger stat to further preserve the field.

Arrival: one of better searcher. retrieve dead scale in your grave or straight up +1. it only mitigate being Species-Specific and can only be activated once. Etairos arguably rivaling since its much faster on gaining the +1 and in process it become Pendulum fuel.

Salvage: correct wording (in my opinion):

If a Dinosaur-type Monster you control is targeted for attack or card effect: destroy 1 Dinosaur-type Pendulum Monster in your Pendulum Zone; negate the attack and destroy the attacking monster OR negate the activation and destroy that card.

its gives protection generically to dinosaur, which pleases me since i can also protect my non-archetype tech from opponent harm. its also tone down your pendulum a bit while get rid of forced use scale and convert it to pendulum fuel

Fillipos: 1st effect its kinda useless since most of your species-changer is only apply on your turn only. 2 effect is a  2 popper that doesn't target and pendulum fuel converter on to of an ok-2500 atk and humongous 3300 def. its ok

Perikles: generically speaking, all Xyz monster is able to recycle dead fellow xyz as its material once per duel that  act as skill drain/or neo galaxy-eyes that you must combo first with world and boiotarches, its arguably balance although you must specify until when the negation effect apply is. 2nd effect allow you to recycle dead scale or material for field presence and further summon fooder is quite nice

Alkibiades: another OTK initiator, not as good as pestaltes but both can stack on top of each other to remove threat fast and retaliate with game ending possiblity. its ok since im most likely prefer to tone down pestaltes instead

Solon: most at the time solon will only gain at max 1200 atk in conjunction with world and boiotarches which is good. and it has better stat and cost for having same effects as Fillipos. you may need to tone down the ATK gain

Peisistratos: 1st effect is useless, 2nd effect its good for scale set up in need. 3rd efect is galaxy-eyes-esque effect of 2 turn pseudo-target spin is ideal to remove destruct-immune threat. all in all its good

First of all, thanks a lot for your very detailed CnC, I really appreciate that :) (This is the third archetype I post, and yours is the first CnC I get ç_ç). Regarding Egemon, yes, I'm sorry, I meant to write Dinosaur-type there lol

I will answer to the rest later, just because I'm from mobile atm.

I fixed all the typos and errors in the cards and updated some of the effects (such as Egemon and Etairos). For what concerns the Exceeds: the negation of the effects is applied when the Xyz is summoned on every Dragon-type monster face-up on the field and lasts as long as the Dragon-type monster is face-up on the field (gust like Neo Galaxy-eyes Photon Dragon).

if its similiar to Neo Galaxy-Eyes:

"When this card is Special Summoned: Negate the effects of all  face-up Dragon-Type monster currently on the Opponent field."

basically i copy paste its effect and rework it a bit in your favor

as for the update:

Egemon:  i have suggestion since Dinosaur card pool in general is so small and slightly outdated you can actually buff this effect to generically help all non-archetype Dinosaur summon to be 1 less tribute. and if you concern about further abuse you may put some limitation on top of it (although i think it wouldn't be needed).

Etairos: i support this change, now he is scale revival with cost of destroy himself. its neat that he revive dead scale (mostly due to Xyz detaching) while conservatively being pendulum fuel for further plays. it also make Arrival and Oplites shine optimally

Arrival:  neat archetype searcher with an amazing bonus effect that also balance, considering that Boiotarches only change monster-type ot pendulum, World is need to be search, and Philipos need at least 1 of them to live. but the pay off of searching 2 dinosaur generically is genuine rewarding, nice.

Phillipos: he become a Pseudo-passive 3rd species augmenter. being contact fusion, not slow as much and with huge body to boot. i like how its 1st and 3rd effect complement each other. scale distrupt with chances of shell cracking to either put monster in vulnerable position and/or dealing huge damage as you buff your dinosaur (for combo sake maybe Alkibiades most of the time) with Pestaltes. nice to have in mid to late game.

Thanks for your CnC :) I edited those effects.

  • 3 weeks later...

Bump, I updated some effects, in particular: Pseudragon Arrival (just changed the OCG a bit, but the result is the same), World (cards to activate the first effect now can be sent either from hand or field), Dinodragon Perikles, Alkibiades and Solon (you can only Xyz summon one Dinodragon monster per turn if overlaying it on another Dinodragon Xyz).
