WIND

Machine/Xyz/Effect

Rank 7

ATK 2500, DEF 2300

2 Level 7 monsters

Once per turn: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card; Special Summon 2 "Mecha Phantom Beast Tokens" (Machine-Type/WIND/Level 3/ATK 0/DEF 0). While you control a Token, this card cannot be destroyed by battle or card effects. Once per turn, during either player's turn: You can Tribute 1 "Mecha Phantom Beast" monster; cards your opponent controls cannot be Tributed this turn.

So a Mecha Phantom Beast that actually punishes the player for having their little pride and joy out (tokens).... Why? This is like a Konami move for stuff that they no longer want to give valid support to (they usual do this to meta-esque archetypes, not archetypes that struggle in the meta). Pleas give me a reason to eat my words.

I mean I suppose it is cool to get free damage off your opponent by attacking into a token that you have control over its battle position (would be sexy with Limiter Removal for possible kills). Or to have this guy have destruction insurance while accepting the huge burn that goes with him.

But, where MPB's are at now... This guy isn't going to help them go from rags to riches, or at least close to that for that matter. At least it is an idea of novelty though.

If anything, this is pretty much counterproductive to how MPBs play.

Why would I want to kill my own Tokens, which the Deck is pretty much reliant on? Yes, I get that you want to stop Monarchs and other Tribute heavy Decks (which are, what again, 'specters, Nekroz/Qli [however relevant they are now since their power cards got booted] and so forth), but this really isn't helping them.

Suppose you can use this in the mirror or something, but yeah there is really no reason to run this over Draco, even if locking out Tributing.

(SS spam Decks don't care about no Tributing).

Monarchs xD

K... I am preparing culinary arts via sauteing my words. Crippling Monarchs is a beautiful and novel goal. (Yes, I have my salty , little agenda on Monarch's current status too). 8.5/10 And I think you improved the effect nicely to make it less self-punishing on the behalf of the Rank 7/ MPB player.

I forgot to mention this earlier, but while it may stop Monarchs from doing whatever they want, recall that MPBs also Tribute stuff too to trigger their effects.

So yeah, no using Megaraptor to search more stuff, SSing more stuff via Harrliard, Coltwing destroy/banishing, Draco's own pop effect and so on while this is up (and has mats); though it's basically Megaraptor/Draco plays that'll get screwed while this exists.

Though, at least it doesn't kill your own board now, which is better.

---------

Because of the thematic things, what animal and aircraft did you based this card's name on?

You probably could get away with the anti-Tributing part being single-sided since it is a rare effect, and offers more incentive for the MPB players.

It was a random choice completely. But for the story, the aircraft is surely a helicopter, i can't think what animal would be.

Also i changed the eff. Now, after the detach cost, you special summon 2 MPB tokens to your side of the field (similar to draco's) and you can tribute 1 MPB monster during either player's turn to prevent your opponent from tributing something.
