Attribute Changing Support

Have you ever found a few monsters and thought "if these monsters had the same attribute I could make a nice combo"? Well, I have. So, I thought of making a set of 6 Field Spell Cards that make all attributes of your monsters the same while providing an extra service.

So, here they are:

"Do" derives from 土. "En" derives from 炎.

"Fu" derives from 風. "Sui" derives from 水.

"Ten" derives from 天. "Ma" derives from 魔.

I'm considering adding to the cards something along the lines of "you can only have 1 "-gene" Field Spell card in your Deck", because of all the combos they can set up.

Let me know what you think.

Looks like Energy Cards.

Not sure why it would be better to get a card from your graveyard rather than your deck. Honestly, there are plenty of cards that target Attribute monsters (spiritual arts, dark eruption, circle of the fire kings, After the Storm, Quill Pen of Gulldos, etc), so these would be ridiculously helpful in any attributed deck, probably Fire King for the most part (although the deck is basically garbage).

I'm also not completely sure how to word searching for cards based on their text. If you could find an instance, that would be appreciated, but no cards come to mind when I think of cards that search based on effects.

All in all, these cards could probably help some decks as enablers, and would either be forgotten or extremely ridiculously powerful.

Edit: Did not notice it clarified Spell/Trap cards. That makes the kiddie pool a pit shallower.

The ONLY cards that these cards can actually search are: Dark Eruption (DARK; arguably the best one to search, out from all of the other attributes), After the Storm (WIND/WATER), Aquamirror Cycle (WATER), Circle of the Fire Kings (FIRE;; can already be searched by Barong), Cyber Repair Plant (LIGHT; can already be searched by Cyber Dragon Core), and EARTH has no Spell/Trap cards that "target" EARTH monsters.

Outside from a few cards (Circle of the Fire Kings and Dark Eruption), the rest are just not worth the 3x deck space that you're dedicating, just to search that 1 card, which will probably not even advance your gamestate.

Probably the only decent thing about these cards is the fact that these card change the attributes of monsters, and that's it, and that alone does not make them worthy of deck space.

Honestly, there are plenty of cards that target Attribute monsters (spiritual arts, dark eruption, circle of the fire kings, blue flame swordsman, wolfbark, Goka the pyre of malice, Mystic Macrocarpa seed, After the Storm, Harpie Dancer, Pilica, Quill Pen of Gulldos, etc), so these would be ridiculously helpful in any attributed deck, probably Fire King for the most part (although the deck is basically garbage).

These cards would only help with Attribute-focused combos and as you said, they can be either too powerful or quickly forgotten. The potential they can release is great because now you can use attribute combos with monsters that wouldn't normally fit. Like a fire based combo with Blue-Eyes. You are right saying that some attributes have lots of support, but it is not the same as the ability to get in you hands the card you want, when you want. The combos become so much easier to execute. Also, you don't exactly need to "search" the texts of the cards because you would know exactly which cards in your deck equip to each aspect of a monster card. If you don't then you would obviously need to study your deck a bit more. I am not like that, but I am sure the big players in tournaments know their cards 100%, right.

These are the things I considered when making them.

They do indeed look like energy cards because they were. The background originates from deviant art. The makers name is in the circulation part of the card. All I did is crop the image and add the Attributes where the energy orbs normally are.

Yes, you do need to adhere to card effects, and their wording. If a card effect does not have the word "TARGET" in it, then you can not search it with any of these cards. That is why the EARTH field spell does not even work, given that EARTH does not have any Spell/Trap Cards that "target" EARTH monsters.

In that case how can I specify that the cards you can get only include those that deal with "specific" attributes?

That, I cannot help you with, given that no card that has been released in the game does anything in the likes of what your cards do, so I have not the slightest idea of how to word an effect like what you're thinking about.

Okay, I was looking though the yugioh wikia for another idea I wanted to work on and found THIS:

Dark Magic Circle is a card that has not been yet translated to english but allows the user (among other things) to add to the hand 1 Spell/Trap hand that lists the card name "Dark Magician" in its text. So, there are cards that go by card text. I just have to fix up the texting a bit and I will be good to go.

Edit: For example if they are all like this...

... then, they are good.
