At the start of the Damage Step, if this card battles an opponent's monster: You can return the opponent's monster and this card to the hand.

Now, I'm gonna be honest here: I have no idea why this guy is still at 1. Sure, it recycles itself, but is it really game-breaking enough to remain at 1? It takes up your Normal Summon and, while it's a non-targeting, non-destroying removal, it's kinda slow considering how fast-paced the game is nowadays.

I really hope this guy gets bumped up the list. I'd prefer if he went straight to 3, but I wouldn't mind if it went to 2 first.

Cons to Mole @ 3:

Well Kaiju might get annoying with this thing at 3... You know to stomp out boss monsters and then proceed to grab back your Kaiju to rinse and repeat if needed?

As for just him by himself, he can minus players hard if they chose to Summon via XYZ, Fusion, Synchro,... 3 of them could make this problem more prevalent if people decide to trend him in for whatever reason.

Pros to Mole @ 3:

Moles best selling points are

  • Hitting things that were Summoned from the Extra Deck that required your opponent to expend resources.
  • Hitting certain threats that you otherwise don't have an immediate out to. (e.g. Naturia Beast, Traptrix Rafflesia, Melodius Aria/ Elegy wall)

Though Mole doesn't have much of a home outside of his archetype (which is a lackluster one) some could consider a few of him as nifty side option to potential threats.

Where Mole @ 3 Doesn't Matter:

He can't do much harm to the speed of  Pendulum Monsters by himself, and he can leave you wide open to some unfortunate scenarios if you didn't manage to get rid of the scales, or have other means to protect yourself.

Lastly, you would normally only need 1 Mole to do the job... Having 3 only means back-up/consistency of getting Mole, but 3 in the deck could also cause the potential of dead draws that could hinder the consistency of your deck.

Overall:

I would not mind Mole coming back to 3... The game has finally gotten too fast, and boss monsters are starting to trend on having immunity to card effects anyways... So why not?

Ah yes, unlimit the non-targeting, non-destruction removal on a monster that accomplishes said task with no real cost besides your Normal Summon, but even that is hardly a problem these days. What could possibly go wrong; I'm sure so many players are going to be super happy to see this get back in the game. After all, kind-of-unfair cheap, powerful removal is what this game needs, right?

Kaijus don't cost your normal summon, aren't battle-reliant, don't activate. So in all areas you've mentioned they're better. This'd be fine to at least try at 3.

And don't recur each turn. I'm not saying that this shouldn't go to 3 (I don't have an opinion), but I did once win a duel because each turn my opponent would Xyz Summon and I would bounce it. For some reason they kept doing this, despite knowing that I had this thing in hand and I won when they ran out of the resources they were wasting.

This is a major point. Even if people were to run this card, they'd probably only run it at 2 maximum, and that could still be dead unless you're running Pendulums.
