I like the current play of Spirit and have been messing around with them for a week or so. This is how I think they should improve, The monsters that currently exist are really good but come at a cost of not being able to be special summoned and that they return to the hand at the End phase. Hopefully this will speed them up to the current meta where everything is lightening fast and decks can get +5 plays on turn 1 with no set up.

Count me in any card topic that is Spirit-relevant. :D

The Spell and Trap cards are imo quite alright, they do what you want them to: speed the game up for Spirit players. I can see some interesting combos with existing Spirit monsters/supports.

 

Regarding the "Destroyer of Soul": are you sure the field clearing effect everytime it causes Battle Damage isn't being too otp? Granted, it is a bit tricky to summon, as well as to keep on the field, but if we account for its immunity to almost any effects, then the field clearing effect may be a bit too much. For a mass-destructive effect with a condition that can be easily met due to its massive ATK... yeah, just a bit too easy. May I suggest targeting only the face-up cards excluding this card? You know, like a restrain to avoid being too otp for other players. Other than that, this could pretty much be the boss of any Spirit builts.

 

Oh, btw, did you mean "deck" in place of "library" in Spirit Reaver? ;)

Destroyer of Soul's main weakness is that it can be stopped by any spell/trap removal or any effect negating ability. I thought the immunity to monsters would be balanced with it's high cost and restriction. Raigeki is at 1, dark hole at 2, loads of things now that banish from the field.I'm thinking reducing the attack to 3200 instead of 3500 so it can still be blocked by a lot of the boss cards roaming around like Black Luster Soldier support and Buster Blader support.

Yikes, Dark Hole is semi-limited now? Just how long have I been gone for? :o

 

Taking into account that Dh and Raigeki are slowly getting out of the "forbidden" dungeon, then maybe it isn't too OTP a card after all. Though I actually like its high ATK, Spirit built really need something to function as a beat stick against all those giants out there.

 

Just a thought, wouldn't it clear our field as well? Might be a tad inconvenient for us if we happen to have any powerful/helpful Spell or Trap, like those you made above, at play at that time.

That's also part of it's drawback. It's meant to win games, not help establish a field.
