Draconus297
So, someone managed to get me to make a Wyrm-Type combination of the way Monarchs and Dragon Rulers function, so . . . here they are. If this monster is Tribute Summoned: You can banish the monster your opponent controls with the highest ATK, and inflict damage to your opponent equal to its Level times 300. Yes, as Monarchs meet Dragon Rulers, these are going to be very awkward to balance, which is specifically why I'm avoiding S/T in the archetype for now.Still, hopefully nowhere near as bad as its components. vla1ne
Ok, I’ve been mostly busy and procrastinating in shared parts, but i gave my word, so let’s do this. Ok, the dames and knights share the same effect, and as far as that goes, they’re quite strong. They have the cyber dragon effect, and they can summon their princes/princesses off of a discard. Without super rejuv, this is actually fairly tame. But I suggest changing that hard opt into “you can only use one effect per turn, or only once that turn.” It’s not quite necessary, but it would be good future proofing. Considering wyrms are the newest series of monsters, and they’re supposed to be related to dragons, it might be best to do so since they might get updated cards like rejuv and ravine in the distant future. Princes and princess similaritiesThe special summons need a hard OPT on all of them But enough with the simple stuff, onto the meatyWATER:Prince silHis banish effect is really easy to trigger, put a hard OPT on him (this will be a common trend for the rest), the tribute summon effect is essentially a Mobius, so nothing wrong there. Overall solid, just needs that OPT Emperor OshyunBanish 3 is a large cost that could feasibly remove a ton of resources if abused, I don’t think it needs a Opt, but it may be safe to do so. Actually, since the effect that follows the summon can basically foolish burial, it may be best to do so anyways. The banish effect is just too strong. Make it 1 card only and add the OPT and it’d attract less list attention. As for the tribute effect, I’d say switch that to “cards cannot be activated in response” if you hit a face-up spell/trap, the effect will likely fizzle regardless, and face downs that get chained, the way it’s word now would still get their effects off unless they’re continuous. EARTHPrince rocSame as the last, add an OPT, to balance theease of summoning. The special summons alright. And the set destruction is good as well. The chain negation here is what I was getting at with oshyun. In fact, this card’s somewhat better than oshyun in that aspect. Emperor mowwntOPT again to prevent foolish burial abuse (not sure how it would be done, but if yugioh has taught me anything, it’s that people know how to screw the rules). Again, the banished effect would be better off only getting 1 card instead of 2. The up to 3 set card destruction is a bit too much. You may want to drop it to 2, and possibly drop roc to 1. The inherent unchainable ability makes them directly better than granmarg eiher way. LIGHTPrince GLEEM!!OPT as usual, the banish effect here is pretty interesting, I don’t know if it actually needs any restrictions this time, so somebody else might be better off telling you here. A reoccurring theme I see among your monsters is destruction upon arrival, I’m not sure it it carries through to all your monsters, but try to vary it up a bit, otherwise the deck won’t have much to offer aside from spinning itself around and blowing things up (not a bad thing, but somewhat boring to play as without a bit of individuality to the monsters).Emporor loominOPT as usual for the foolishness. Shuffle 1 instead of 2 again, sith the OPT, again, the destructions a bit too much, it can just hit 2 and draw. FIREPrincess FlahrOPT as usual. The banish here is very abusable (banish 2 to summon 3rd and blow up 2 monsters) definite OPT. the discard’s alright, but if you’re going for the ATK of the discard, it may be better to take the alternate route of gaining the full ATK instead of burning for half. Empress EnfernoOPT as usual, Again, just 1 for the banish (+opt to prevent amazing stacks) would work fine. And again, the full gain might be better than the half burn, but that boils down to tastes. WINDPrincess gaelOPT, OPT again (banish 2, special summon 2, loop, OTK, Profit.) the shuffle’s basically an altered raiza, so it’s good.Empress SaikloanOPT to first and second to prevent loops, especially the second (pot of cupidity would break the second effect like a fat kid on thin ice) you may want to nerf the second to only monsters, spells, or traps, still with the OPT the shuffle’s ok, but skipping a draw phase for something as easy as a tribute summon is too strong. Dark Princess DaakOPT, the second as well. It’s a good effect though, adds more variance to the effects other than looping banishes and replenishes. The third effect is an interesting take on the caius effect, it gets around targeting, so it beats out dark destroyer and its’ ilk, I like it. Empress VoydOPT as usual, the 2nd effect is just too powerful all around. OPT and just 1 monster. Otherwise it’d be return from a different dimension with no cost. The last effect should add rank to it’s burn, otherwise Xyz monsters would get past it easily. I’ve got a bus to catch real soon, so I can’t give my final thoughts and alternate potential improvements to the hybrids (or clean up this comment itself), so those’ll be saved for my next post.
