[spoiler=Lore]Target 1 monster you control or in your Graveyard that has a Level; Special Summon from your Extra Deck, 1 monster with the same Type, Attribute and a Rank equal to the Level of that monster, and if you do, attach that target to it as Xyz Material. (This Special Summon is treated as an Xyz Summon.) You cannot Special Summon other monsters during the turn you activate this card. During your Draw Phase, if this card is in your Graveyard, instead of conducting your normal draw: You can add this card from your Graveyard to your hand. You can only use this effect of "Overlay Chaos Crystal" once per Duel.

Really playable. The restrictions are fair so that you don't just reach into your Extra Deck to fish out anything to fit the situation, and it allows a Deck on the ropes to jump right into an Xyz without any prior setup. I am, however, slightly worried that it practically trivializes any other Summon conditions once you match all the parameters, like jumping into CDI out of nowhere the moment you get a LV6 LIGHT Machine.

To be fair, there are very few LV6 LIGHT Machines in the game (last time i checked, most of them were the xyz dragon cannon fusions). I was aware of a potential infinity abuse but given the fact that is one of the xyzs that doesnt have a playable material for this (i might be wrong on this), i didnt put any other restrictions. That being said, because of the SS, the xyz would have to stand alone on the field by itself with 1 material (in some cases), so it wont that problematic to out it.

You're actually right on that part, I've skipped a bit of research previously out of convenience. A lot of Xyz monsters with troublesome-looking Summon restrictions that can be easily circumvented also happen to have just the right combination of parameters that you don't commonly see a monster that can qualify without reaching for Gale Dogra. Either that, or they're Chaos Xyz monsters that require a Rank-Up to be useful.
