Guest BGMCANN0N
Chain-Wrapped Rapper✪✪✪✪Earth/ SpellcasterATK/ 1700 DEF/ 800 During either player's turn, as Chain Link 2 or higher: You can send this card from your hand or side of the field to the Graveyard; the current Chain Link count is double the last Chain Link count (this effect is applied immediately before it resolves in the Chain). When a Chain of 3 or more resolves while this card is in the Graveyard: Special Summon this card. You can only use 1 effect of "Chain-Wrapped Rapper" once per turn. Edit: Added a parenthetical portion to make the effect apply immediately before it resolves.
Trebuchet MS
So, the Chain Link doubling applies after the card resolves? Does it affect the next link in the Chain? It doesn't seem to do what it wants to do - i.e. enable the Chain Link 3 or higher cards due to how it works, but the one thing it really does is make Chain strike hit VERY hard. Guest BGMCANN0N
It applies after it resolves... How would you approach it as a Chain Link 3 or higher card enabler?
Trebuchet MS
Considering how Chain Links work, immediately doubling the Chain Link is very hard to implement as a mechanic. If anything, I would make it a Continuous card or monster effect, being that continuous effects can apply in between links. Something like, "Each turn, the first card or effect that would be activated as Chain Link 2 is instead treated as Chain Link 3." If you want to turn this into a hand trap, make its effect linger. Like:"During either player's turn: You can discard this card; the next card or effect that would be activated as Chain Link 2 is instead treated as Chain Link 3." This does mean that you need to preemptively set this up because its lingering effect will only affect the next Chain it's forming. And this is one of the reasons why Cyberdark Impact was met with scorn.
Guest BGMCANN0N
Thank you for the input as it helped me a lot. I am going to try a few ways to word it...
Snatch Steal
Needs more support IMO, looks like a pack filler right now. Chain Damage/Healing/Strike are the only things that this will aid in right now, but the concept of long chain links is pretty exciting. It could be used as a combo enabler for a deck revolving around creating large chain links, Special summoning for Xyz/Synchro material usage.
