I was thinking for making use of copies of Spirit Messages, or backing up the win condition with the cards you draw, but you are right, once you get Destiny Board you are mostly set. Still, I would like to take advantage of their Normal Monster treatment somehow.

I also was admittedly a huge fan of Dark Sanctuary.

 

The first time I read it, I got really confused, because I thought it Summoned ITSELF (the Field Spell), but was inexplicably immune to all card effects except Destiny Board.

 

Now I see that it SSes the Spirit Message, which is...awesome, actually.

 

I also note that Destiny Board simply specifies "Spirit Message" CARDS, so turning them into Monsters still allows them to work towards the win condition, while keeping your S/T slots open. Sadly, it still means Destiny Board itself is a target for removal and blow up the entire win condition, but that could be circumvented with actual backrow.

 

The rest of the effect is pretty solid, and fits with how the anime version worked.
