ホリー サルベーション ドラゴン [Toyo's Daily Cards 1/30]

Recommended Posts

Yay hello woo-hoo good morning/day/night/afternoon. So, like, three or so, maybe 4 years ago I became (in)famous for posting really bad cards for like a month straight. It's really quite bad, please dont look them up, you guys. But anywaaaaaaaayy

It's come to my attention that I made, like, a shitfuckmetricloadton of cards for 2099, so I figured, like, funk it. I'm gonna post 30 cards that I thought were really quite excellent for the next 30 or so days. CnC is appreciated, and actually good reviews may get reps~

Beautiful card.

It grants the Synchro8 pool an option for moving forward your own game and gaining card advantage not unlike how Bujintei Tsukuyomi is to Level4 LIGHTs. Plus that effect of the additional draw is really fun for guessing and feels a lot like a "heart of the cards" thing: if it's truly in you and you call it right, you are rewarded with an extra draw, yesh!

Then the float effect is a nice safety cushion that helps you to stay in the game, and revive a monster with an on-Summon effect for extra card advantage.

I'd like to point out that while the draw effect would have great synergy with Plaguespreader, the float effect does not, since it looks like it requires that all the Synchro Materials still be in the Graveyard. Is this the correct understanding of the card?

If so, then I'm sad, because I wanted to use this in Voluspas - my 2099 archetype which has yet to be accepted (please accept them Toyo!) - but they are a Pendulum archetype and thus wouldn't be able to use the float effect.

Regardless, the cards you make for 2099 are generally of very high quality Toyo. This looks like it will be a good series, and it will be interesting to see your thought processes behind certain cards.

My design process behind this? It's not too complicated, really. The idea was a Synchro 8 that doesnt advance your gamestate or remove any threats, but instead just thins your deck and gives you an additional card. Basically, Synchro 8 was lacking a comfortable first turn Synchro, and Stardust/Star Spark isn't really cutting it for me due to them being much better suited for pushing and establishing a mid-late game presence.

The draw is indeed intended to work with Plaguespreader, the idea being that at the cost of losing a solid board, you get to draw 1 card.
