Dova
Cri, such a great concept with no reviews. What is with CC these days? The first thing Luxuria brings to my attention is the fact that this archetype is very exclusive. While I may not particularly like this, that is merely personal, as I just simply prefer open archetypes. Since they all have the same Pendulum effect and the same base monster effects, I may as well comment on it here. Again. personal, but I wish there was a little more variety. I mean, for example, Qliphorts had your monsters gaining 300 ATK, and then the opponent's losing 300 ATK. Something small, unsure how that would be applied here, but the only variation is on the stats and monster effects, and with that the level still stays the same. I mean, its a good idea with what you were going, but maybe something like a reverse summon (place this card in your Pendulum zone by ssing a banished Xaos? Broken as is, but that might be something to consider). As is, while they may seem somewhat bland, they work, and that's the important bit. Back to Luxuria. Controlling the monster would be powerful, but the archetype is limited. However, it might need some OPT, as Pendulum Summoning 3 of these would just destroy an field your opponent has. Gula makes for a nice mid-boss, and his effect is fine. Nothing to say here. Avarita's effect is fine, considering, while it can't be splashed for being a beater, it can be used just for its pot of greed effect. So kudos on still having limitation. Again, wish banished recycled more. Acedia's effect is rather boring, but again, works. You need that protection. Ira's effect is generic, but not too hard to get around. Not worth splashing, but neat within the archetype by itself. WHOOPS, almost missed an obvious point: 2400/1000 stats, i.e. Monarch stuffs. This really does help the Monarch Engine, as you can just run Tenacity and Pantheism. Also helps that this archetype works with Normal/Tribute Summoning. Perhaps it would be best to change that somehow? Invidia shows how most of these effects don't require HOPT, as the lack of staying power makes it just right. Seems too restrictive to be a threat, currently. Superbia's effect, while again bland, is helpful. Yes, as I have been saying, they are rather simple, but they do combine well with the 7 Deadly sins, so thats something. Vaingloria's great, except for two things. First off, not the monster itself, but the fact that its the only scale 1. I mean, being the only tuner is fine, as you have an Xyz, but being both is a bit too much. Second off, Level 1? Why? I mean, if you have a Scale 1, you are only restricting yourself even further. Deskbots, for example, have a Level 1 Tuner that can be Summoned easily from the graveyard, especially if you Pendulum Summon. Was hoping for banish recycling, as the deck heavily banishes, but the extra deck monsters will have to do for what they do, and I will comment on them both now. Why? Because all the Synchro is good for is immediately going into the Xyz. It doesn't even activate the effects of the Summoned monster. It does nothing except the Summon, and seems to be there so that the tuner has a reason to be there. Then, you instantly get a 2800 unaffected, which has useless Xyz Materials unless you just combod with the Synchro, which would be easy and broken if it weren't for the fact that the Tuner is hard to get out without them. (Also, reread the last effect on the Xyz, you talk about this card losing DEF :3) Well, the Field Spell allows for splashing, if not in a good way. This basically causes any generics you tried to fit in to be bricks without this card, so the first effect wouldn't have much use, methinks. As for the second effect, it would be cool if you could remove any number of counters, then summon a Xaos monster with the same level as the counters removed, allowing for the Level 1 Tuner to see a bit more use. Other than that, slow way of bringing them back. Last effect is also okay, but I wish it had OPT. Gateway is...weird. Why is it quick-play? It doesn't need to be, and if you want to activate it on your opponent's turn, I don't think it would be worth it, as there is no real reason to other than something like they banish your cards. And the banish in the Graveyard...doesn't search banished cards. Again. Adding from your Extra Deck to your hand is not a priority with this archetype, imo. The first counter trap makes me want more banished searching. You are going through monsters at a fast rate here >.> Why does it have OPT? It doesn't need to, as it is balanced enough. Restrict is again, balanced. Doesn't need HOPT. Just want more searching .-. Unleash....would be helpful, if it weren't for the fact that YOU DONT HAVE ENOUGH CARDS TO BANISH. Its balanced because your hand advantage would be weak and everything else would be banished. Needs to target, though. All in all, great idea, and the base concept for the monsters is sound, but you made them chew up too much fuel to be of any use. Need some more recycling!
