NotRingoStarr
Hi! This is the first time I'm posting anything here, In fact, these are some of the first cards I've ever designed with actual balance in mind, so I hope that would explain why theses cards might be too weak or too strong, but anyhow, I hope to get plenty of critics here so that I can become better, thanks! I designed these cards after the super sentai series from Japan (Sentai translating to "squadron") better known in the west for it's US port Power Rangers. I meant to set these cards up to have a strong offense on the users turn but a definite weakness on the opposing turn. So is it a good idea? Flash Flyer - Sakura
I'll fix your OCG and provide proper reviews underneath. Changes in text are italicized; reviews are written in blue font. Sentai Warrior REDOnce per turn, during your Battle Phase: You can have this card's ATK become double its current ATK until the end of the Battle Phase. Red's okay for boosting up to 2000 for an attack, but it's just too simplistic for my tastes. I guess it'll help to run over smaller things, but that's about it. Sentai Warrior BLUEThis card can attack your opponent directly. (Yugioh uses "can" to describe things that a card can do, and what players are permitted to do) Kinda iffy; a direct attacker is nice, but it's just too weak to really do much with 1000 ATK. Buff its ATK a bit. Sentai Warrior GREEN If this card attacks a Defense Position monster, inflict piercing battle damage to your opponent. Green would've had more potential if it had more power to use its piercing effect. As-is, unless opponent plays something like Majespecters, Ghostrick or whatever has low stats (or you can buff this card's power), not going to do much. Sentai Warrior YELLOWAt the end of your Battle Phase, if this card targeted another monster for an attack, and that monster was not destroyed this turn: Destroy it. You at least can blow up stuff if the opponent doesn't die, but it does cost Yellow its life (unless you use something like Mist Body to negate its destruction, but then LP damage). But yeah, it would've worked better if it triggered during either player's BP, even if it did cost you some LP. Sentai Warrior PINKThis card can make a second attack during each Battle Phase. Effect is fine, but with 1200 ATK, it isn't going to do much. You can buff its ATK a bit, so it can actually do more for its cause. Sentai Warrior BLACKTarget 1 Warrior-Type "Sentai" Monster on the field: Increase or reduce its Level by 1, then reduce this card's Level by 1 until the end of your opponents turn. Cannot be used as an Xyz Material monster. Black sets up for Rank 4 plays, but can't be an Xyz Material itself. I mean, I don't really see why it needs it, but this card is more/less the only way you're actually making that Rank 4 Xyz you got here (actually, it's still Rank 3 from the printouts)Sentai Warrior WHITEOnce per turn, if this card would be destroyed by battle or card effect: You can activate this effect; it is not destroyed. If a "Sentai" monster is sent from the field to the Graveyard: You can send this card you control to the Graveyard; Special Summon that "Sentai" monster. Well, I guess having OPT destruction immunity is okay, but this card will still be destroyed more often than not. That in mind, you actually need to control this card to actually revive something. Guess it'll help with reviving the bosses, but yeah. Sentai Mini RoboYou can Special Summon 2 Sentai Ally Tokens (Machine-Type / (Attribute?) / Level 2 / ATK 100 / DEF 100). You cannot attack the turn you activate this effect. You can only activate the effect of "Sentai Mini Robo" once per Duel. The Attributes shouldn't be too much of a factor, but what are they for the Tokens? Just keep in mind that Tokens CANNOT be used for Xyz Summoning, so no going into Warrior HQ. But yeah, I think the once-per-duel clause really kills this. You'd be fine with this just being hard once per turn. Sentai Mecha TECHNICOLOR 2 or more Level 3 "Sentai" monstersThis card gains 500 ATK and DEF for every Xyz Material used to Xyz Summon this card. Once per turn: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card; this card gains the detached material's effects. This card cannot attack the turn you activate this effect. Well, I guess I see why the Main Deck monsters are single effects and all; gaining their effects is nice. However, I am a bit iffy on the wording used for the "absorb" effect; I get where you're trying to go with this, but not sure if I have given you the proper wording. That in mind, Deck doesn't have a lot of speed getting out the Level 3 Sentai in the first place and is very slow. Sentai Warrior HQ3 Level 2 "Sentai" MonstersWhen this card is Special Summoned: Place it in your Field Card Zone; it is treated as a Field Spell Card with these effects.- The effects of "Sentai" Monsters apply to all "Sentai" monsters.- Monsters you control cannot declare an attack the turn they are Summoned.- Once per turn, You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card; Special Summon 1 Level 3 "Sentai Warrior" monster (from your hand). One thing that I'm going to mention is that once this card becomes a Field Spell, all of its materials will be sent to the Graveyard. So in reality, this would be better off as a Field Spell of its own. Usage-wise, unless you use White/Robo or lower stuff via Black, this is not going to be summoned at all. Second effect should be scrapped as it already hurts them more than they need to be. Not sure on the proper wording for the first effect, but I get that all of the Sentai monsters are to gain the effects of the other stuff, which will lead to confusion about what gets what. So yeah, change this one to a Field Spell, ditch the second effect and make the summon an OPT thing. Sentai Warrior X 3 Level 3 "Sentai" Monsters (or did you want to make this a 4?)When this card is Special Summoned: Banish any number of "Sentai" monsters from your Graveyard; this card gains 500 ATK and DEF for every monster banished by this effect. If this card attacks or is targeted for an attack by an opponent's monster: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card; that monster's ATK and DEF become 0. If this card attacks a Defense Position monster, inflict piercing battle damage to your opponent. Considering how slow Sentais are at getting themselves out at the moment, I don't think they'll be able to summon this effectively. That, and it will drain your resources just for a small power bonus. You really should give this card a 2 or more Xyz Material requirement, and have the boost be based on that (probably should set it for 800-1000 ATK per mat). The last two effects are nice, but not really going to do much.Sentai SYNCTribute 1 "Sentai Warrior WHITE" you control, then declare a Level from 1 to 4; all "Sentai" monsters you currently control can be treated as a monster of the declared Level. I'm going to modify the card slightly, so you have a more defined standard as to what the Deck can be capable of making. Your old wording implied that they could go into any Level from 1-4. I guess this is how you'll make the other Xyz (and generics by extension), but yeah. Then again, this also builds off multiple copies of White you may have out, if any. Supporting CounterattackSpecial Summon 2 Level 4 or below "Sentai" monsters from your Graveyard; their effects are negated. Here's some of that summoning speed they need, but to be fair, this should also be able to SS from the hand. Besides this card, Sentai have almost no way to quickly get monsters out for their Xyz. I guess this card also serves as a bit of walling too, but otherwise the monsters this card summons aren't exactly strong enough to survive more than 1 turn. ----In all, this Deck is really slow and could benefit from being able to trigger on either player's turn. Right now, all of them are weak and while the Xyz are nice, they simply don't have the resources to keep monsters out long enough (or rather, get them in the first place). Counterattack should be modified a bit, or the addition of a card that can speed up their early game. The Main Deck is really barebones stuff, and not the type of thing that can survive the newer generation of cards, even minusing the competitive world. To be fair though, we already have Super Quantum to take care of Power Rangers / Super Sentai stuff, and those work nicely for the most part.
