Cloud Nine Canyon (For Want of a Good Fairy Field...)

Hello again, everyone. 

 

I was off college-hunting (okay, really Pokemon GO hunting) with my niece in NY for the week, so if you're wondering why I have not graced the forum with my hamfisted attempts at awesomeness...well, there. 

 

So I've decided to make my hiatus break (again) with a little number for my favorite unsupported archetype, the Cloudians. 

 

"but this card doens't even have Cloudian in its name, how're you preventing it from bein-"

 

WOW, ARE WE GOING TO HAVE TO RUN THESE HANDS UP AGAIN WITH THIS? Probably don't count fields as fields unless it increases something-or-other's ATK and DEF by 300, ya philistine. If Terraforming and Demise of the Land (if the last isn't fast enough for you PSY-Frame Tramid yeah, we have too many Field-Spell-reliant B- decks out here now.) isn't enough for your Field Spell Grabbing needs, cancel basic cable life.

 

That being said, this card is a Normal Rare, so you can guess how much stock I place in its effectiveness.

Field Spell Card

 

Lore: During your Main Phase 1, you can Normal Summon 1 Fairy-Type monster with 0 ATK or DEF in addition to your Normal Summon/Set. (You only gain this effect once per turn.) If you would take battle damage from a battle involving a monster you control with 0 ATK or DEF, your opponent takes half of that damage instead. When this card is sent to the Graveyard: You can target up to 3 Fairy-Type monsters in your Graveyard with 0 ATK or DEF and different names: add all of those targets to the hand. You can only use this effect of "Cloud Nine Canyon" once per turn.

Honestly all I can think of is Cloudian Support. It basically gives them extra Normal Summons. While also leaving you with a watered down Sanctuary effect. But the effect to grab back your fairies is good. But very few decks besides maybe Cloudian's can really utilize this.
