Pixel Art: Prelude to Animation

So I'm going to like do my best to show ya'll how I work without having to take constant video footage of my sporadic workflow.

And I figure it'd help or inspire some.

 

I am laying each piece individually so as to make sure each part can move separately later.

It might seem redundant to post the same image 3 different ways, but it helps. Notice the steps and try to understand why I did what I did.

 

Questions pertaining to the current progress is welcome.

I don't know much about GFX, line work, or anything like that.  But I think this is a neat way to show someone how layering, line, and pixel work come together.  You know I enjoy your work, so that's a given.  I'd like to see you go into more detail honestly, maybe shed some light on what steps you take and why more specifically.  But this is really cool.

Man those can be entire lessons/threads themselves. But I suppose if the mods give the okay, I can do a little something either here or in Tutorials. For now, I'll take specific questions and be brief.

I think it's coming along great, i like the art style you're using too. Was the original a photo or a graphic model? 

What's the program you're using, and what's the intended purpose of it?

Doing each seperate piece individually is the smarter option though IMO, easier to correct mistakes and edit things in future
