[5/5] Season Sisters Archetype/Series - "Since Plant Princess isn't even that good anyways."

I'm just on a roll today with these archetypes, huh?

Anyways, just think of this as pseudo-Plant support if you want-- if we're going to be honest, these cards kind of use the Plant-type monsters they're "supporting" as stepping stones to help you, but w/e. I'm not going to judge what you think these cards are for.

i totally am

First of all, I think the idea behind these cards are really cool; seasons flowing from one to another.

However, there are some really powerful interactions here. For example, Springya can easily load Glow-Up Bulb or Spore into the Graveyard. Which is cool and all, but then to revive said Bulb or Spore, and then Synchro Summon into a beefy Synchro like Giganticastle, Leo, Keeper of Sacred Trees, or Star Eater? Which also drops Summira to the field, because Springya LEFT the field, which can effectively return Springya to the deck (because it can just as easily be summoned from Deck or Grave) to become a PERMANENT 6000/6000 beater?

*mind blown*

Not to mention that capabilities these cards have with stuff like Terrortop, which is a 1 card Leviair the Sea Dragon. So, what I'm getting at, is that you can banish something like Lonefire or a Tuner from your Graveyard to summon one of these beefcakes. Play Terrortop to make Leviair, Special Summon whatever it is you banished, boom instant rank 8 or level 9, 10, 11, or 12 Synchro.

On a side note, Winteral would be a broken side deck card against plants. Banish a plant card from your opponents Graveyard, to then banish their field, and potentially drop a 4000-5000 attacker? I I think if it only gained 600 or 700 for each card, that would be okay.

Personally, I think these cards need to be tweaked. Either I think you could keep the infinite recursion, but drastically scale down the ATK and DEF, and also make it so they cannot be used as Summon Material for a Fusion or Synchro. Or make it so they only pull out their seasonal follower if they are destroyed by battle or by card effect, rather than whenever they leave the field.

If I'm completely honest, when I first clicked on the page, I thought it would be some sort of support for the actually plant princesses. Like you have to banish the corresponding Plant Princess from your hand, field, or Graveyard to Special Summon it, and then when it leaves the field, it special summons the following Plant Princess from your hand or Deck in defense position. So, I was thinking something like this:

Banish "Chirubime, Princess of Autumn Leaves" from your hand, field, or Graveyard, Special Summon "Autumvra, Bringer of Bounties" from your hand. And then when "Autumvra" leaves the field, you can Special Summon "Talaya, Princess of Cherry Blossoms" from your hand or Deck in face-up defense mode.

Then it repeats like so:

Banish "Talaya, Princess of Cherry Blossoms" for "Winternal, Bringer of Loss" which summons "Tytannial, Princess of Camellias" which you can banish for "Springya, Bringer of Hope" which summons "Marina, Princess of Sunflowers" which you can banish for "Summira, Bringer of Requiem" which summons "Chirubime, Princess of Autumn leaves" which you can banish for "Autumvra, Bringer of Bounties" which summons "Talaya, Princess of Cherry Blossoms" etc etc.

Just a thought.

........... ANYWHO.

I DO like the idea though. It's just really powerful.

The issue I have with your argument is that it severely overestimates Plant players, and Plant Synchro players.

If they don't have to, they will not leave a Plant-type monster on the field, so Winternal will very much likely get at max 1000-2000 ATK, unless of course your opponent is playing Plant Princess, in which case gaining 5000 ATK on a monster that doesn't naturally protect itself, and actually has less protection than Utopia the Lightning isn't all that impressive. Like I said: UtL can do what Winternal does, but better. The only thing it can really do is screw over bad Plant-type players. This thing's not only weak to any kind of general removal, but on top of that, it gets destroyed by Book of Moon, or any card that can flip it face-down, as it will lose the ATK boost, and can only gain its ATK the turn it's Special Summoned.

Springya, yes, is a good card. It was supposed to be. As a bringer of hope, it needs to be. Besides being in a deck like Plant Princess/Synchro, I could not see this being effectively splashed in another Deck. Most cards like Glow-Up Bulb and Spore, while being usable in most Decks, shoving a random Level 8 into it that will, in most cases, require two tributes to bring out, is a bad idea. Though, indeed: it is the perfect card to see in Plants. That was the entire point of the card.

Same argument for Summira that is made for Winternal, the only difference being that it can't be permanently lose all of its ATK. Though, I did forget to have its ATK reset at the EP. That was a mistake, and I apologize for that. But, ah, I think you forget: Summira only gains ATK, not DEF.

Oh, and did I mention that all the monsters can be Castel'd to have their effects avoided? And since they're "When...you can" effects, they can miss timing.

EDIT: And no, you can't recycle Springya with Summira. Springya's a Spellcaster-type monster ON PURPOSE.

Nice set. I'm not going to go too deep into the archetype because I don't consider myself good at that but I like the concept of changing seasons that you seem to employ with the summon rotation effects.

Also, as a side note, if you could produce versions of these in the cardmaker (with pics and stuff) and show us the result, that would be great to see. (PM me if you are having trouble finding pics for any given card -- I could give looking for one a shot.)

The cardmaker? If you mean Duel Portal, by any chance, I can't exactly do that at the moment. The computer I'm on can't run Silverlight, and the computer I did have that COULD run it is being worked on atm.

I will, at my closest convenience, upload them to DP, though.

Nah, I just meant for us to see what they would look like as actual cards, but having them on DP would be neat even though I don't use it as of yet.

Just saw the arts, and they are amazing -- where did you find them?
