Death is a tricky thing. A fickle thing, which takes whoever it damned well pleases, often with little to no warning.

 

However, they're not gone forever. Certain "Harmonized Zones" can in fact host the dead- haunted locations exist for a reason, although they're not common in the slightest. And, one one night a year, July 18th specifically . . . the dead can move past some of their final grievances, by "borrowing" the bodies of the living. Twenty-four hours each year wherein people in a Harmonized Zone can be possessed, overridden by the will of someone dead who has one last thing to do.

 

And, regardless of whether they succeed or not, if they're still "borrowing" a body when July 18th ends . . . they're passing on.

 

Tonight is July 17th, and due to a wide variety of dares, people are camping in Ebonwood Forest, one of the biggest Harmonized Zones in the world.

 

. . . Anyway, if and when I open this, everyone who participated would need to make at least 2 apps- one ghost and one living person, just so that the plot could move along, and so that all the ghosts could potentially speak with one another in human bodies if the story called for it. This would likely be PG-16 if not higher, depending on the characters I get. Also, this would be a "timed RP", wherein you have to keep track of the "time" in all your posts- as the plot summary indicates, the RP ends at 12:01 AM July 19, and starts at around 11:30 PM July 17th so we can get introduced to everyone before the action starts.

The RP wouldn't literally start in July. In-universe, we're putting up the time of day- think about things like LoZ Majora's Mask, or that defunct TV show 24.

I'll join, I guess. Basically, what I have to do is make two characters (One ghost and One living person) and you'll take over for the story and such? Do we need to provide a background for the characters?

Ok. I'm new to rp, so I'll give it a shot and hope that it isn't awful.

 

Character Name: Gerald Harrison

 

Height: 6ft 1

Weight: 180 lbs

Other Physical Descriptions: Black hair, green eyes, tan skin, and a rather athletic build, with strong leg muscles and decent upper body strength. Wears size 14 shoes and has flat feet. Hands somewhat rough and peppered with some old cuts and scrapes. Has a thin mustache and short hairs circling near the edges of his mouth.

Clothing: Plain white undershirt with sleeves pulled down past the sleeves of the vermillion T-shirt that he is wearing. Has Ebonwood High School sweatpants on, of which shows the black and red colors of the school. He also has dark green shoes on, as well as black socks on.

Weapons: An icepick and a taser.

 

Backstory: Gerald Harrison, a born athlete, pursued his love of Track and Field at the age of 12, quickly proving his worth on the team. He helped Ebonwood Middle School win various meets with not only his raw talent and speed, but also with his inspiring and encouraging speeches before the game, raising morale through the roof. Instantly after showing off his skills, he became more popular. Even the older kids wanted him around. Up to this point, everything was swell, to say the least.

 

But one night, after coming back home from a friend's house, he found his mom crying as she put her coat on and grab the keys. She directed Gerald to the car, explaining that his dad crashed in a car accident and is now in the hospital. They shortly arrive at the hospital and made their way to Gerald's dad's hospital room. As they walked in, the blanket that kept Gerald's dad warm now cover him and his cold, dead body completely. The doctors said that his injuries were too severe, as he bled out just as they were trying to stop the bleeding.

 

They also noted that there were no signs of alcohol in the car or within him at the time. They didn't know actually what happened, but they guessed and said that Gerald's father didn't cause the crash. At this point, Gerald and his mom were crying, showering themselves in tears and sorrow. A man that has done nothing but provide love and protection for family and friends dies in a simple bad car crash. A car crash caused by someone else.

 

Years pass as Gerald, a senior in Ebonwood High School, continues to try to cope with his father's death. He was never the same, but he tried to pretend that he was. He felt sad, angry, violent, and had wished he could have killed the man that killed his father. One day, he and a friend were talking about it. As more information was given to him, Gerald's friend started to realise something...horrible.

 

Gerald's friend said that he knows who did it. His friend, Zack, frantically told him about it. About how he was only 12 years old when he stole the car and drove off for a joyride. Gerald's fury arose, almost flowing out of him. Gerald's friend said he was sorry and that he didn't know that his friend had killed Gerald's dad.

 

Gerald's friend suggested that he talk to Zack at the Ebonwood Post-Graduation Party held here on July 17th, as it was nearing the end of the 12th grade. Gerald's friend also stated that there would be events held in the Ebonwood Forest, which was practically next to Ebonwood High School. He suggested talking to Zack there. Gerald agreed as his friend left. Little did Lee's friend know, he wanted to do MUCH more than just talking...
