I know this archtype is pretty old, but I have been watching some Yugioh Zexal episodes lately and decided to make some support for "Battlin' Boxers".

Battlin’ Boxer Upper Cutter

 

Type: Warrior/Effect

 

Level: 4

 

Attribute: FIRE/ ATK: 1000 DEF: 1500

 

Effect: If you control a “Battlin’ Boxer” monster other than “Battlin’ Boxer Upper Cutter”: You can Special Summon this card from your hand. You can only activate this effect of “Battlin’ Boxer Upper Cutter” once per turn. When this card battles a monster with 2000 or more ATK: destroy that monster.

 

 

Battlin’ Boxer Righthook

 

Type: Warrior/Effect

 

Level: 4

 

Attribute: FIRE/ ATK: 200 DEF: 1800

 

Effect: When this card is Normal Summoned: You can Special Summon 1 “Battlin’ Boxer Lefthook” from your hand or Deck. This card cannot be destroyed by battle as long as you control “Battlin’ Boxer Lefthook”.

 

 

Battlin’ Boxer Lefthook

 

Type: Warrior/Effect

 

Level: 4

 

Attribute: FIRE / ATK: 1800 DEF: 200

 

Effect: When this card is Normal Summoned: You can Special Summon 1 “Battlin’ Boxer Righthook” from your hand or Deck. This card cannot be destroyed by battle as long as you control “Battlin’ Boxer Righthook”.

 

 

Battlin’ Boxer Punching Bag

 

Type: Warrior/Effect

 

Level: 1

 

Attribute: FIRE/ ATK: 0 DEF: 0

 

Effect: Monsters your opponent controls cannot target face-up “Battlin’ Boxer” monsters for attacks, except this one. Twice per turn: This card cannot be destroyed by battle. When this card battles: Place 1 Hit Counter on this card. This card’s Level increases by 1 for each Hit Counter on it. Twice per turn: You can remove 1 Hit Counter from this card. You can only control 1 “Battlin’ Boxer Punching Bag”.

 

 

Battlin’ Boxer Underdog

 

Type: Warrior/Effect

 

Level: 4

 

Attribute: FIRE/ ATK: 1500 DEF: 1000

 

Effect: When this card attacks a monster with higher ATK: You take no battle damage from that battle and this card cannot be destroyed by that battle, also you can add 1 “Battlin’ Boxer” or “Battlin’ Boxing” card from your Deck or Graveyard to your hand.

 

 

Battlin’ Boxer Tag Team

 

Type: Warrior/Effect

 

Level: 4

 

Attribute: FIRE/ ATK: 1400 DEF: 1400

 

Effect: When this card Is Normal or Special Summoned: You can Special Summon 1 Level 4 or lower “Battlin’ Boxer” monster from your hand or Graveyard, except “Battlin’ Boxer Tag Team”.

Type: Quick-Play Spell

 

Effect: Target 1 “Battlin’ Boxer” monster in your Graveyard or 1 banished “Battlin’ Boxer” monster: Special Summon it, and if you do; it gains this effect.

(): Once per turn: This card cannot be destroyed by card effects.

 

 

Battlin’ Boxing Bribery

 

Type: Normal Spell

 

Effect: Discard 1 “Battlin’ Boxer” or “Battlin’ Boxing” card; draw 2 cards. You can only activate this effect of “Battlin’ Boxing Bribery” once per turn. During your turn, except the turn this card was sent to the Graveyard: You can banish this card from your Graveyard; add 1 “Battlin’ Boxer” monster from your Graveyard to your hand.

 

 

Battlin’ Boxing Switch

 

Type: Quick-Play Spell

 

Effect: Target 1 “Battlin’ Boxer” monster you control and 1 “Battlin’ Boxer” monster in your Graveyard: Return the first target to the hand, and if you do; Special Summon the second target. You can banish this card from your Graveyard: Add 1 “Battlin’ Boxing” Spell/Trap card from your Deck or Graveyard to your hand.

 

 

Battlin’ Boxing - Mirror Move

 

Type: Normal Trap

 

Effect: When a “Battlin’ Boxer” monster you control is targeted for an attack: That monster’s ATK becomes the same as the attacking monster’s ATK until the end of this turn, also “Battlin’ Boxer” monsters cannot be destroyed by battle until the end of the Battle Phase.

 

 

Battlin’ Boxer Quick Block

 

Type: Quick-Play Spell

 

Effect: Target 1 face-up Attack-Position “Battlin’ Boxer” monster you control: Change it to face-up Defense Position, also it cannot be destroyed by battle until the end of this turn.

 

 

Battlin’ Boxing Counter Jab

 

Type: Counter Trap

 

Effect: When your opponent activates a Spell/Trap card during the Battle Phase while you control a “Battlin’ Boxer” monster: Negate that activation, and if you do; destroy that card, also you can target 1 “Battlin’ Boxer” monster you control; it gains 1000 ATK until the end of the Battle Phase. You can only activate 1 “Battlin’ Boxer Counter Jab” once per turn.

 

 

Battlin’ Boxing Ring

 

Type: Field Spell

 

Effect: Once per turn: You can discard 1 card, and if you do: Special Summon 1 “Battlin’ Boxer” from your hand or Graveyard, but it cannot attack and it’s effects are negated until the end of this turn, also you cannot Special Summon monsters for the rest of the turn, except “Battlin’ Boxer” monsters. When a “Battlin Boxer” monster you control battles an opponent’s monster: It gains ATK equal to the opponent’s monster Level/Rank x 100 until the end of the Battle Phase.

 

 

[spoiler=Extra Deck]Battlin’ Boxer One Two Punch

 

Type: Warrior/Xyz/Effect

 

Rank: 4

 

Attribute: FIRE/ ATK: 2400 DEF: 2000

 

Effect: 2 Level 4 monsters

While this card has Xyz Material: It can attack twice during each Battle Phase. When a Spell/Trap card is activated during the Battle Phase: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card; negate that activation, and if you do; banish that card.

Upper Cutter is basically outclassing Spar at this point, which is generally not a good idea (well, in the sense that it plays like BWs without drawbacks as opposed to sealing your BP). However, I do think that restriction kills them nowadays so sure, you can let it be a no-frills SS. A bit iffy on the second effect though, but that's probably how I feel about it on smaller monsters. Should be fine.

 

Lefthook/Righthook are basically c/p of each other (bar inverted stats) and literally a 1-card Xyz on both ends that can search. I won't deny that they do need searchers though, but you really should put hard OPT on their SSing effects, lest they loop with some of the support cards (Spirit, Fire King stuff, etc).

 

Mirror Move is a bit slow for them, but yeah, getting a free kill is nice and BP protection does help to an extent.

 

Quick Block's nice for keeping your bosses protected, so nothing wrong there. That, or save yourself from having to detach from Yoke early to save said monster (though you probably want to detach to power up).

 

Ring speeds up your R4 plays at the cost of limiting you to Lead Yoke, 79 and C/105 (oh and Cheat Commissioner, but I personally don't run this because I can't make it). Would combo with Glassjaw to recycle stuff; ditch him, recover another Boxer at the same time. Stat booster is small though, but it helps a bit when running over larger bosses.

Hopefully you add some ED monsters, because while the listed options (least the first two) are still useful, they do need some new ones that can survive the current era of play.
