Zap Mustung (and other Thunder-types)

Cannot be Normal Summoned/Set. Must be Special Summoned by a card effect during your Main Phase 1, cannot be Special Summoned by other ways, and cannot be Special Summoned if you have Special Summoned this turn. Twice per turn, this card cannot be destroyed by battle. Each turn, the turn player can only Special Summon a number of times up to their number of attacks conducted (and reached the Damage Step) this turn.

So I was fiddling with a Thunder control-style deck and I ran across this card. I didn't know of this card's existence, but the deck itself works surprisingly well alongside "Ties of the Brethren" and other Thunder stuff like: Denko Sekka, Thunder King, and Lightning Rod Lord.

Discuss this card in particular or thoughts on any of the Thunder floodgates.

Can we talk about just how bizarre those summoning conditions are

Anyways card is kinda funny because about a month or so before it was made I was trying to build Ties Thunder Stun

And then this card came out which was just obviously made to be used in it

That being said it was too conditional and janky for me to actually include.

that summoning condition its actually a fail safe to prevent most of the abuse for its summon lock effect

the idea is that you have to summon this guy first on the very first main phase so both player will have the same summon lock handicap...without you spamming an army of monster then lock the deal by summoning this card

if anything...incentive-wise, its a good design choice for floodgate

I know what it's for, and I'm like 99% sure it's meant to be used with Ties + your Normal Summon, but like

It's just so amusingly worded
