Oath to Owner

[Continuous Trap]

Your opponent cannot use monsters you own as Fusion, Synchro, Xyz, or Link Material for a Summon. Once, during your opponent's turn, while they control a monster you own: Activate 1 of these effects.

  • Change all monsters your opponent controls that you own to face-up Attack Position. They must attack, if able to.
  • Change all monsters your opponent controls that you own to face-down Defense Position.
  • Activate the effect of 1 monster your opponent controls that you own as if you control it, if conditions are appropriate.
  • During the End Phase: Take control of 1 monster your opponent controls that you own.

Dang!
You could look at any format's metagame and construct an Extra Deck out of pure hate for all relevant builds.

Though the Extra Deck is not public knowledge in a duel, but own would mean it exists on your build, right?

Just to make sure, what are the specifics on how this works? Since outside of Prohibition, I don't think this is a concept touched upon very often if at all.

I'm tempted to think this would even belong in Experimental Cards depending on specifics.

Monsters you own = Monsters that are/were initially yours from the start of the game. Example: Like when you Summon a Kaiju to your opponent's side. It is still your OWN card, but they CONTROL it.

It is a mechanic that has been used by Konami, but it hasn't been one their priorities of further experimentation.

Oh, I got mixed up then xD

Then scratch my previous comment...

This would work well with Kaijus, better in fact than Remove Brainwashing since it wouldn't get in the way of Interrupted Slumber.

Lava Golem too since I'm an old school fan.

Ameba could be forced to crash.

Kaijus would retain their power if not gain more entering the Link era when they'd otherwise be available to be used as Link Materials.

I don't personally like the idea of supporting Kaijus more but the support is pretty solid. You could even turn Creature Swap into a pretty nice softer Change of Heart.
