Duh, a European dark dragon. With my heightened intelligence, strength, size, senses, and abilities, armies would fall at my draconic feet. As they should.

Basilisks are the ones with death glares; cockatrices have poison breath. Plus, the only dragons left alive are gods.

According to my English teacher, none of those is correct.

It all depends on where you get the information from. I always thought that both Basilisk and Cockatrice had the stone gaze.

Exactly; that's an English teacher, not a draconologist.

Basilisk: Constantly beams infra-red lasers from organs just above its eyes. Look it in the eye, and your brain gets fried.

Cocatrice: Its breath is gaseous mixture of methane and cyanide. You know it's extremely toxic.

Gorgon: It fires infra-red beams like the Basilisk, but these target the spinal cord. The target is quadriplegically paralyzed.

I guess your correct, Yddisac. I guess it's all name mixing up. Cockatrices are also called basilisks. But then there are the dragon basilisks that I believe you are referring to. Also, if I know right, there are only two Gorgons (two because Perseus chopped off Medusa the Gorgon's head) so I could hardly think they're a species. They were turned that way by Athena because Medusa and Poseidon were having a date inside Athena's temple. So, gorgons aren't a species and let's just drop the whole topic so we don't get a negative rep for being off topic.
