Metaphys Eater
Attribute: LIGHT
Type: Wyrm/Synchro/Effect
Level: 11
ATK: 3200
DEF: 2800
1 Tuner + 1 or more non-Tuner Wyrm monsters
This card's Synchro Summon cannot be negated. Your opponent cannot activate cards or effects when you Summon a Wyrm monster(s). If this card battles, it is unaffected by your opponent's card effects until the end of the Damage Step. Once per turn, during the Battle Phase (Quick Effect): You can target 1 of your banished "Metaphys" monsters; Special Summon it, but banish it during the End Phase of the next turn.

Got inspiration for this card from the "Make a Synchro Game", where a Synchro with non-Tuner LIGHTs as material was requested, and thought on making this as Lightsworn Michael, an archetype semi-generic Synchro usable by LIGHTs, but with an additional effect for Lightsworns. I later decided to shift the approach towards Wyrms instead.

[spoiler=Notes]

Needless to say, it's a Metaphys version of Star Eater.

In pure Metaphys, Ragnarok + Daedalus can be used to Summon it. Metaphys Armed Dragon can be used too, but I don't think it's feasible in Metaphys deck, except as fodder for Asymetaphys maybe. IDK if decks like Yang Zings can access this easily, while I guess True Dracos can tech some Tuners if they really wanted to Summon this.

To conveniently complement the protection effect provided by the Metaphys Field Spell, this prevents activations on the Summons of not only itself like the original Star Eater does, also of fellow Wyrms, including Metaphys monsters.

The third effect is basically an improved effect of Star Eater's. This is to compensate for its semi-generic requirements. I may be pushing it a bit too far on this one, though.

The last effect follows the examples of Executor and Ragnarok, and is intended to let Metaphys deliver an stronger punch during the Battle Phase, while discouraging the opponent from entering his/hers.

Thoughts?

You forgot to put an OPT on the battle phase quick effect.

Anyway, other than that, the card is perfectly fine and balanced. No need to worry about the third effect, it's just a beatstick.

More high level Synchros are always welcome, and if I ran a Wyrm deck, I would also run this with an appropriate tuner.

Well done Darj.

Star Eater? I see what you're doing here.

Good card already, but I have a couple suggestions for the design of the card to make it a tad more interesting.

- You could probably call it "Metaphys Star Eater" if you want to, since "Metaphys Tyrant Dragon" also takes the entire name.

- The synergistic protection effect with other Wyrms might synergize too much with Yang Zing, but considering the deck is lower tiered this might be fine.

- Turning every single banished Metaphys monster into a battle trap sounds kinda fun, but I feel it needs a cost. Maybe you could have a "Banish 1 Wyrm monster from your hand or GY", which can also be seen as an advantage since you probably sent a "Metaphys" to the GY for the Synchro Summon.

Hope my recommendations were helpful.

Ah right, the OPT clause. It would be insane if it didn't have it.

Thanks for your comment.

Thanks for the suggestions.

- I will stick with Metaphys Eater. "Metaphys Star Eater" doesn't roll off the tongue that well to me and IMO "Metaphys Tyrant" would have been much better; but that's a personal preference at this point.

- It should be fine. I mean, it's a Delteros-ish protection for your Wyrms; without actual tests I can't really know, but how bad can it get? Even if a current top tier deck like Yang Zing Dino variant were to have access to this (True King + Jiaotu?), I doubt the effect would become game-breaking. While Zings would surely appreciate the layer of protection, but I'm not sure if they are that effective at dropping this and then follow up with plays. I do remember Metalfoes Zing variants dropping sick combos, but IIRC they usually ended with a high-Level Synchro or just Baxias/Rank8, not the other way around; they would have to do things backwards to benefit from the Delteros-ish protection.

- Well, considering that first Metaphys decks may not have an easy time summoning this, then you must have a banished Metaphys big monster, which like to spin themselves into the Deck, adding an extra requirement or cost could make the effect a bit too impractical. Not to mention that your suggestion actually makes the effect stronger if you banish a Metaphys that floats as cost.
