So King of the Lake acts as homage to King of the Swamp where it shares the same stats but with its ATK and DEF switched around. In addition for Fusion Decks King of the Lake can both search for a "Polymerization" and banish itself to revive a Fusion Monster ignoring its summoning condition.

 

In terms of Fusion Decks this would effectively allow you to generate more Fusion Monsters on the field even if the Extra Monster zone is occupied due to how reviving from the GY would place a Fusion Monster in the Main Monster Zone instead of the Extra.
