Lucio 47
Level: 4ATK/DEF: 1900/0Machine / EARTHEffect: Cannot be Special Summoned. When this card is Normal Summoned: You can destroy 1 card you control, and if you do, Special Summon 1 "Ancient Gear" monster from your Deck. If this card attacks, your opponent cannot activate any Spell/Trap Cards until the end of the Damage Step. During the End Phase: Take 1000 damage. Harrison H
I guess with the current meta this might be tolerable, but the Attack seems slightly too high to me. The line saying that it cannot be specially summoned semi balances, but not to the point of being "balanced (as balanced as Yu-Gi-Oh can get). Maybe nerf the attack slightly considering it's a level 4 monster, 2600 just seems too high for me. This card would have an overall, okay synergy with an Ancient Gear deck, while yes, it does go with the theme of ancient gear (fusion summoning and tribute summoning. But the fact you have to destroy a card to activate its effect defeats the purpose of an ancient gear deck, being that it relies on spells and traps a fair bit. TCG Grammer: I'm not expert with this topic but I feel that the Grammer for this card should go more along the lines of (and this might not be super accurate either): This card cannot be special summoned. When this card is normal summoned, activate the following effect; You may destroy 1 card you control; if you do, Special Summon 1 "Ancient Gear" monster from your deck. During your End Phase; Take 1000 Damage. Hope this helps a bit!!
Flash Flyer - Sakura
The grammar he has right now is fine, and accurate to modern standards. But yeah, 2600 is far too big for a Level 4 monster, ESPECIALLY one that sets off Geartown and then summons Reactor Dragon AND something else afterwards. Yeah, you cannot Special Summon it and you get burned, but that's minimal. (For comparative reasons, Giant Kozaky has slightly lower ATK than this, and it literally blows up if a certain card is not present). Lower its ATK to 2200 or something. EndUser
I agree with them, the ATK it has is very high for a Level 4 monster that can be Normal Summoned with no drawbacks or restrictions. Paying a measly 1000 LP doesn't even balance the card for what it does. A maximum of 1900-2000 ATK should be more than enough, because you can have up to 2 monsters on the field just from its effect.(Keep in mind that even if it cannot be Special Summoned, there are Ancient Gear cards that Special Summon monsters ignoring the summoning conditions.) This card would have an overall, okay synergy with an Ancient Gear deck, while yes, it does go with the theme of ancient gear (fusion summoning and tribute summoning. But the fact you have to destroy a card to activate its effect defeats the purpose of an ancient gear deck, being that it relies on spells and traps a fair bit. There are cards in the archetype that activate if sent to the Graveyard or if they're in the Graveyard, so it can often be a plus. Also, Magma Soldier can be useful both in the start and mid-duel, because then you may already have an established field & a wider choice of plays to make.
