Fairy / Link / Effect

2+ "Trickstar" monsters
If this Link Summoned card does not point to a monster, it is unaffected by other cards' effects. If this card does not point to a monster: You can inflict 200 damage to your opponent for each "Trickstar" monster with a different name in your GY. You can only use this effect of "Trickstar Bella Madonna" once per turn.

Looks like a nasty boss, IMO. You can drop it on a MM Zone at the right side of Proxy Dragon, Ib, etc. so it doesn't point to any monster, and the burn can finish games earlier. If you go for 2 different Link2 Trickstars before this, you add +400 damage. AFAIK Trickstars have ways to get 4 of them on the board rather easily, too. There is that trick of summoning multiple Lycoris, plus Lilybell's and Narkiss' self-Summons. I find ironic that the burn has a hard OPT while the burning effects of the rest of the Trickstars don't xD

Definitely a new wincon for Trickstars.

The best way I see getting this out is by taking care of Holly Angel in the EMZ and using the 2 Trickstars in the zones Bella Madonna now points to.

Ooor just shove Bella Madonna in the right-hand corner of your field. That works, too.

Also, her effect isn't one of the conditional effects of the Trickstars that plays off of other things to burn, but just straight-up burn. Koomy has always had a problem with straight-up burn.

Nope. Jack Knight of the World Scars gains protection from targeting and destruction if it doesn't point to a monster.

Edited accordingly. Forgot about him.

*puts on John Oliver glasses*

Jack Knights. An archetype you think about so little, you forgot they were Psychics and not Warriors.

I think this is the first Link NOT wanting something to be in its Zones.

The Jack Knight Link3 doesn't want stuff in its columns.

Yeah, placing it in the right corner is a more intuitive move, but if you don't have that option, then left-right marker Links come in handy.

I get what you mean but still, with Konami being somewhat loose on the burning capabilities of Trickstars, I would have expected a regular OPT rather than a hard one.

Fake edit:

Ninja'd on the Jack Knight.

HOPT is because between Reincarnation and potential future support, this could be the wincon for a loop/pseudo loop FTK. Basically they didn't want to repeat the mistake they made with Tribute burners (Cannon Soldier, Amazoness Archer) on a Link Monster. Probably wouldn't have been a problem with just a soft OPT, but there's no harm in taking precautions.

I don't see how Trickstars make use of this yet. They'd have to use 4 Main Deck Trickstar monsters to Summon this either directly or through laddering, and they only tend to main a single-digit number of Trickstar monsters. Using up copies of Lycoris/Candina as Link Material means relieving your opponent of all their cumulative burn effects, and this card's burn couldn't be all that impressive considering Trickstars aren't exactly Lightsworns when it comes to filling the GY with their monsters.

The protection effect is the best this card has in the way of potential, but requires even more work to make use of by getting it to a non-EMZ zone. Otherwise, the opponent can just Summon to its Link Point and use all the card effects they desire.

The Windwitch Crystal Wing fulfills this card's niche much better than this card in Trickstars for now.

I agree, using your Trickstars, especially Lycoris, to Summon this and removing their burn oppression from the board doesn't sound like a great idea. But that's why I see it as more as a game finisher that you can access as a tool if you need it due to it being an ED option. Even with only Lycoris and Candina, and the trick of 2 Link2 Trickstars, that's already 800 damage, matching Gagaga Cowboy, which has proven to be enough to finish games, plus extra damage from the Field and additional Trickstars in the GY.
