[spoiler=Monsters]

Darkperation- Collapsed Twins

Dark 4*

Aqua/Effect

If this card is tributed for the activation of a trap card or effect; Special Summon 2 “Darkperation” monsters with different names from your Deck in face up defense position. A “Darkperation” Link monster(s) that points to this card gains the following effect:

·      If this card destroys a monster by battle, gain life points equal to that monster’s original defense

0/1500

Writer’s Note: The Special Summoner of the Archetype, Twins helps you further your plays after activating either one of the archetype’s Traps or a virus card’s effects. Link monsters also help you gain life points back if they point to twins.

Darkperation- Bloated Girth

Dark 4*

Aqua/Effect

If this card is tributed for the activation of a trap card or effect; inflict 300 damage for each “Darkperation” card on the field. A “Darkperation” Link monster(s) that points to this card gains the following effect:

·      Once per turn, you can remove 1 Aqua Type monster from your GY; target 1 face up card your opponent controls, negate its effects until your opponent’s next end phase.

0/1300

Writer’s Note: Since effect damage is all the rage in the anime right now I had to give this archetype so way to inflict damage that way. Girth also helps you negate monster effects if its linked to a link monster.

Darkperation- Constricted Collar

Dark 4*

Aqua/Effect

If this card is tributed for the activation of a trap card or effect; target 1 card in your opponent’s Hand, Banish it FD until your opponent’s next End Phase. A “Darkperation” Link monster(s) that points to this card gains the following effect:

·      This card cannot be targeted by your opponent’s Spell/Trap cards.

0/1400

Writer’s Note: Another way to disrupt your opponent by banishing 1 of their cards face down, Collar’s effect combo’s well with the Virus archetype of trap cards. Its 2nd effect also constricts your opponent’s ability to target your link monsters with effects.

Darkperation- Choked Track

Dark 4*

Aqua/Effect

If this card is tributed for the activation of a trap card or effect; all monster(s) in the main monster(s) zone lose 500 Atk and Def points. A “Darkperation” Link monster(s) that points to this card gains the following effect:

·      While this card is on the field, all Non-Aqua Type Link monsters lose 1000 ATK for each monster Linked to it.

0/1200

Writer’s Note: A Draining effect that “Chokes” your opponent’s monster’s attack and defense when its tributed. Though Track really shines when a link monster points to it, all other link monsters lose 1000 atk.

[spoiler=Extra Deck]

Darkperation- Seized Ticker

Dark Link 1

DR

Aqua/Link/Effect

1 Aqua Type monster

When this card is Link Summoned, you can set 1 “Darkperation” Trap from your Deck (this card cannot be activated the turn it was set). If an Aqua-Type monster that this card points to leaves the field due to card effect; Special Summon 1 Aqua-Type monster from your Hand.

950

Writer’s Note: Ticker is probably your turn one play. Since its effect allows you to set any Darkperation Trap from your Deck, and if you are able to summon another Darkperation monster and that MD monster leaves the linked zone, you can special summon another one allowing for multiple “Darkperation” MD monster effects to be activated in a turn.

Darkperation- Catatonic Noggin

Dark Link 2

DR/L

2 Dark monsters

Once per turn if a “Darkperation” monster that this card points to is sent to the GY by card effect; Send 1 monster your opponent controls to the GY. During your Draw Phase, if you draw a “Darkperation” monster card; You can send 1 “Darkperation” or “Virus” Spell/Trap from your deck to your GY.

1550

Writer’s Note: Noggin helps you send monsters to the GY with having to target monsters, while also setting up for Cadaver’s effect. Overall Noggin is just suppose to be used as fodder for Cadaver.

Darkperation- Gnarled Cadaver

Dark Link 3

L/D/R

2+ “Darkperation” monsters

When this card is summoned, you can special summon up to 2 “Darkperation” monster(s) from your GY to zones this card points to. The effects of other “Darkperation” monster(s) cannot be negated. Once per turn during either player’s turn, you can target 1 “Darkperation” or “Virus” Trap card in your GY, activate its effect and if you do banish it after the effect resolves.

2450

Writer’s Note: the Ace monster of the archetype, it first allows you to gain up to 2 extra effects from the MD monsters. It also makes it so other Darkperation monster’s effect cant be negated. The real power lies in its third effect, Cadaver can allow you to used Darkperation and Virus cards after they have been sent to the GY.

[spoiler=Spells]

Darkperation Hospital of Horrors

Field Spell

Once per turn you can discard 1 “Darkperation” monster, Add 1 “Darkperation” Spell/Trap from your Deck to your Hand. Once per turn, the activation of “Darkperation” Spell/Trap cards cannot be negated.

Writer’s Note: a way to search out more of the archetype’s spells/traps while also protecting their effects.

Darkperation-Organ Sale

Continuous Spell

Once per turn, if a “Darkperation” monster is destroyed by battle, you can add 1 “monster Darkperation” monster from your Deck to your Hand. During your Main Phase(s), if this card is in your GY; You can Banish this card from your GY and discard 1 “Darkperation” monster; add one “Darkperation-Organ Sale” from your Deck to your Hand. You can only use this effect of “Darkperation-Organ Sale” once per turn.

Writer’s Note: the way to search out your Darkperation monsters from your deck

[spoiler=Traps]

Darkperation- Infected Suture

Trap

When your opponent Summons a monster, tribute 1 DARK monster with 0 ATK; your opponent cannot special summon a monster with more ATK than the monster that was just summoned until the end of your opponent’s 2nd turn after this card’s activation.

Writer’s Note: a way to negate the multiple summons on your opponent’s turn, still allowing for the summoning of monster with equal or lower attack.

Darkperation- Hemorrhaging Gash

Trap

When your opponent activates a Spell card, tribute 1 DARK monster with 0 ATK; Your opponent takes 200 damage each time the effect of a spell card resolves until the end of your opponent’s 2nd turn after this card’s activation.

Writer’s Note: to be honest I ran out of ideas so I gave the archetype another way to burn your opponent. Also punishing your opponent for activating spells over the next few turns.

Darkperation- Too Many Sedatives

Trap

When your opponent activates a Trap card, tribute 1 DARK monster with 0 ATK; Your opponent cannot target “Darkperation” cards with monster effects until the end of your opponent’s 2nd turn after this card’s activation.

Writer’s Note: more protection effects,

Finally, a set that works with my favorite Trap Cards!

Collapsed makes me a little worried, as, while hooray for speed, the lack of any restriction on it just screams for some form of abuse, especially as it's a +2 that can Summon itself. Link effect is lackluster, and should be for a such a strong opening effect. While effect damage is always all the rage in the anime/new cards, that doesn't make it good, and while Bloated Girth has a semi-decent Link granting effect, I feel you could get away with adding another supportive effect for the archetype, in order to make it playable. Collar makes me really want some archetypal Links that protect the monsters they point to, and grant some extra speed to keep up the Link presence, especially with such a good protection effect provided by said card. On field effect...eh...it doesn't really synergize with the Virus traps, as they try to hit your opponent's hand, and as this card resolves BEFORE any Virus trap resolves, you could be banishing a potential target your Virus could permanently get rid of. Choked certainly does some choking...and not much else. Really, you had a strong premise of speed with Collapsed, but these here-and-there effects doesn't make this archetype any good at all. I would suggest buffs and expansions all round!

Horrors has some simple searching, and I really like the second effect, although I would suggest you phrase it like so instead, to make it less confusing: "Once per turn, when the activation of a "Darkperation" Spell/Trap card would be negated, it is not negated." If only the rest of the archetype was good enough to synergize with this. Organ Sale is too slow to be of much use with the rest of the archetype; I would suggest just "sent from the field to the GY" so that it could synergize easily with the archetype's theme. At least it can restock itself.

As for the Traps...Infected Suture is purely great, but I feel you missed opportunities on the other two ones. 200 damage is really not much, although the burning theme is interesting, and while targeting support is greatly, I feel Sedatives should also do something damaging to your opponent.

The archetype is crying out for more cards and buffing to make them good. I feel Collapsed along with Infected Suture and the Spells decently set up the archetype, and you should have the other cards work with them. Why not add some Links as well, to act as support for your own cards and synergize with the MD monsters' effects? I'm sure they could make some great combos. But, as it stands, the archetype is slow and all over the place, despite their potential.
