Fortune Lady Station (Written) (Custom Card Type)

Just a bit of fun with this. Do you think this concept could make competitive Yu-Gi-Oh easier to get into for newer players?

Fortune Lady Station

Platform Trap

Effect: You can reveal 2 "Fortune" cards in your hand to activate this Set card. When activated, you can move this card to an unoccupied zone. Once per turn, if a "Fortune Lady" or "Fortune Fairy" monster leaves the zone occupied by this card: Draw 1 card.

(How Platform Traps work:

Cards and effects cannot be activated in response to the activation of a Platform Trap card. Monsters can be Summoned onto Platform Traps, and opponent's cards and effects cannot be activated in response to monsters Summoned onto Platform Traps. A monster occupying a Platform Trap cannot have its effects negated by a card in your opponent's possession.)

I don't really see the connection of a new card subtype (and accompanying rulings and mechanics) with making it easier for new players to jump into the game, if anything it makes it harder because it's a new mechanic to learn and understand. Although this platform subtype you introduce is not hard to understand.

Anyway, this looks okay. The condition to activate doesn't cost any cards and it may be an effective -1 on activation but it's bound to pay off and later net pluses as you place Fortune gals over it. Still, it's on the slow side so I don't see meta-oriented builds playing it, but looks good for casual or alternate formats.

Before making platform traps a whole thing I wish we could see a test like: Monsters can be Summoned onto Platform Traps, and opponent's cards and effects cannot be activated in response to monsters Summoned onto Platform Traps.

I don't know if this warrants a new type of card.

A field spell with the effect "Once per turn, you can discard one card; Normal summon a monster on top of a face-up continuous trap you control" Is a complimentary consideration?

Last and probably best option is to make a swarm deck with this gimmick.
