Blighted Boots

Continuous Spell

Eff - Activate by targeting 1 monster you control; switch control of that target. While your opponent controls that monster, it cannot attack. During the beginning of your Main Phase 1: You can activate this effect; inflict damage to your opponent equal to half the original ATK of that monster, and if you do, destroy both that monster and this card. Your opponent takes no battle damage for the rest of this turn. You can only control 1 face-up "Blighted Boots". You can only activate 1 "Blighted Boots" per turn.

this originally was going to be a card that can be equipped to a monster already controlled by an opponent, but then i realized how lava golem would be brutal with that concept, so i reworked. i'm trying to get a handle on YGO state of the game mechanics so i can have a chance in RC, so any feedback or constructive criticism would be appreciated.

Based on the wording for some reason I have to ask if the equipped monster changes sides? Don't know why I feel I have to ask that?

Yeah, control 100% means the card is in your field, no exceptions. But I understand why the current wording causes some doubts, I believe it can be polished a bit.

🔵 Concerning Loleo's. This wording is a concise way to go about it. Imo, you needn't say "while you control this face-up card", It is known that these cards stop having effect (monster returns to the owner's control) when they stop being face-up on the field. Consider Crackdown's wording and mechanic here.

Careful with using "one". Use "1" instead. The rest are details and adjustments.

I'm a bit concerned about this: You can do it all during the very same turn you activate this card. Is that intended? You activate, switch control, inflict the damage and blast away both the monster and the card itself. Imo, that's no good, is too fast and stronk, even if using up your own resources, it's too convenient to finish games. This changes a lot if you were to move the window of activation of the bombing effect to the start of Main Phase 1, a la Cold Wave. There's no way you can both activate this card, then try to use the bombing effect because it's not the start anymore when you try it. Hope this helps, @cr47t n.n
