Here's the third installment:
When Level 3 Shadow fighter monsters are used in an XYZ summon, they give additional effects to that monster that make it more formidable. In the game, Butcher's bodyguards are members of a gang, so unlike those who came before, they actually know each other and aren't just random people. Butcher calls them his children and he's proud of what he taught them, so it's only fitting that they give their abilities to him in return, but keep in mind that they're not specific to butcher! Changing their levels can give their abilities to other Shadow fighters as well.
Shadow fighter Butcher's ability to flip all of the opponent's monsters into DEF position is a reference to his ground slam attack which leaves you vulnerable for a follow-up attack (hence making their DEF points 0 as well). His ability to reduce the ATK and DEF points also is a reference to his bleed status effect which he can inflict on shadow with his cleavers that slowly drain his HP, he's one of the more interesting demons in terms of lore and personality, but his boss fight is unfortunately very average.
