bhim’s Guide to the Big City!

bhim’s Guide to the Big City![/b][/u]

I: Introduction

This is my fourth guide, and it’s gonna show you how to run a Big City deck to your advantage. Some of you may be wondering what exactly a Big City deck is. It is a deck that uses Elemental Heroes. A lot of you are going to read the previous sentence and say, “Elemental Heroes?!?! They can’t do ANYTHING!” and will leave the guide. Not so. This is not a deck where you use Avian and Burstinatrix to make Elemental Hero Crap. This is actually a deck that could go to a tournament without humiliation brought to your name.

II: Summary/Strategy

Like I said in the introduction, this deck is not a normal E-Hero Deck. This one utilizes the effects of both “Skyscraper 2 – Hero City” and “Elemental Hero Ocean” to use and abuse the effect of “Elemental Hero Stratos” over and over and over and over and over and over until your opponent gets the picture; which should hopefully be right before you say: “Elemental Hero Stratos, attack directly for the match!”

III: Card Info

Monsters

Elemental Hero Stratos: The deck revolves around him. The point is to use and reuse either of his effects to either swarm your field, or destroy your opponent’s. When he gets killed in battle, you use Skyscraper 2’s effect to bring him back. When your opponent is onto your tactic, they’ll wait until they get a smashing ground or the like to make quick do of your Stratos. Now what? He hasn’t been destroyed in battle, so I can’t bring him back. Never say never. This is what you have your Elemental Hero Ocean for. Use his effect to bring him back. Now, there is no way your Stratos can be dead for good unless your opponent removes him from the game.

Elemental Hero Ocean: Use this guy’s effect to bring back Stratos to your hand, or, when this is your last one and Stratos is on the field, you can use this effect to bring back one of your Oceans so that if this one gets destroyed, you sill have a way to bring Stratos back if he dies.

Elemental Hero Wildheart: Just an all around good guy. With his effect, he can get under and around your Gravity Bind to attack your opponent. If you wanna use equip cards, equip him with something like Mage Power, and watch his ATK soar above your wildest dreams!

Morphing Jar: This card is a MUST. Since you’re going to have only one Stratos as it is, you need some sort of draw support for him. So this is the guy you want to be using.

Spells

Skyscraper 2 – Hero City: This is the other part of the combo. When Stratos gets destroyed in battle, use this card’s effect during your Main Phase, and use your normal summon. Congrats! You just swarmed the field. This city is extremely useful in this deck.

E – Emergency Call: Use this card on the first turn to quickly get Stratos to your hand, and then soon after, normal summon him to the field to start your duel off happy and healthy.

R-RighteousJusticeEOJ-EN-C.jpg

R – Righteous Justice: Destroy your opponent’s Spells and Traps just because you have some Elemental Heroes on the field? Wow. I guess Konami agrees with us that E.Heroes suck so badly that they need their own Raigekis. This is an obvious choice when you’re dueling with E.Heroes, so definitely use this card in your deck.

Now then. You could use O – Oversoul as well, but with Ocean and Skyscraper 2, you really have no need for an Oversoul to return your Stratos to the field.

Other than these, there really isn’t much spell support that makes the Big City deck stand out from any other deck. Adding staples like Lightning Vortex and Nobleman of Crossout make this deck easy to turn into a Diamond Dude Turbo. Reinforcement of the army gives you another option when searching out Stratos, assuming you don’t get him early.

Traps

Just as in spells, there is little trap support for the Big City deck, other than the obvious. You’re gonna want Gravity Bind to stop opponents from attacking every now and then, and also, so that Wildheart is the only thing that can really do damage to your opponent. The Trap Dustshoot/Mind Crush combo works fairly well in this deck, so you should stock up on that as well. Pulling the Rug ends the line-up of these cards, so that you can destroy your opponent’s Monarchs before they get to use their effect to get rid of Stratos. The rest are all just staples like Mirror Force, Ring of Destruction, Solemn Judgments, etc.

IV: The Deck

The Diamond Dude in the deck can easily kill you, or easily help own. If it finds your Lightning Vortex, you’re in the clear. If he sees Skyscraper, it’s on the bottom. And that’s not good. A plus side to that though, is his ability to cycle through your deck, so in a few turns, your other one will probably show up in your hand. Snipe Hunter is an all around good guy who can rampage through your opponent. Ancient Gear Engineer, despite its being level 5, is searchable through Giant Rat; and as a matter of face, so is Wildheart and Morphing Jar. And he and Wildheart can both get through traps, so there’s an added bonus there. With all the traps you have, Mage Power is good to use with Wildheart or Engineer to see their ATK stats sky-rocket, so that’s what that’s there for. As for the rest of the S/T line-up, it’s all pretty basic.

V: Conclusion

So that’s it! Pretty standard Big City. I hope this helped you get another look at the deck that took rogue honors in March’s SJC [Chicago?] by surprise. This is the only E.Hero deck at the moment that can do anything to the metagame, so don’t be surprised if you see it. Hope this helped!!
