Pojo is currently discussing TER

Recommended Posts

Ok' date=' cut Grand Mole from that.

And I even believe it was you.

D-END can't control the field. TER can. TER can be abused more than D-END. TER is CCV-able and Deck Devastation-able. With his easy as JD/DaD summoning conditions, how is that not gonna make a huge impact? He locks your opponent down, triggers Viruses, and eats monsters like Plasma.

Assuming by "eat" you mean absorb. I don't see any other proper use for it.

Eats monsters like Plasma. The like is comparing TER to Plasma, not Plasma to monsters. They both eat monsters.

Then, there should have been a comma between "monsters" and "like". You see what grammar errors can f*ck up?

1. JD is getting the banhammer, anyone with half a brain can tell.

2. No it won't, it could be used in DaD.

3. If a good stall is made what do you think it would do to a meta that revolves around speed.

4. This thread is proving YCM is even dumber than it usually is.

no actually

you make theese arguments as if monster removal OF ANY KIND, DOSNT EXIST, this will be on the filed for 2 at max turns

plasma is MUCH better than this card, and it more versitible

also yhea meta = speed this dont slow ANYTHING down, you still draw whatever you want, thendestroy it with the smashing ground you just drew by ddrawing plasma

ton, the whole premise of Goat Control, the deck that got TER, Tsukyomi, and Metamorphosis banned was because TER was abused so much, it became monster removal itself. TER is easy to summon and at 1 could be abused with the amount of Dark support we have now, at 3 it would bring back a control deck centered around it again. I take it that you think Plasma can be as easily abused as TER. You're wrong. TER is alot easier to summon and he's easier to abuse. Also, what is the biggest monster removal in the game? No matter what, it's battle. So JD blows up the field, so DaD blows up a few card, so Gyzarus takes down 2 guys. In every case but JD, it's a few cards. How many monsters are destroyed in battle? Alot more than 2. TER stops battle. In the case that they don't get their monster removal, it's a dead turn. Add Jinzo hate and TER abuse and you have a working stall deck. This format is all about swarming fast, sweeping the field, and attacking for game. Now then, the original Goat Control was abusing the funk out of TER to sweep the field, even without Tsukyomi and Metamorphosis we still have Instant Fusion and Limit Reverse along with Book of Moon. TER would be abused, even at 1 he could be abused enough, at 3 he would be about as good as DaD with enough abuse. You could stall with TER, or you could abuse it like a woman who doesn't make you a sammich to get a DaD/JD esque effect along with a nice little lock bonus. Can you do that with Plasma? TER is better than Plasma due to his easily abusable status. TER is an easier summon, and has by far better support for his effect. Goat Control would evolve into DaDdy-less Darks. Limited it would still bring a huge lock with Jinzo at 3, Returner, and Plasma at 3. Unlimited it would carve out it's own deck without Plasma, Jinzo would still be needed due to his sheer convenience.

I have no clue what you're blathering about now.

So far' date=' Pojo is doing better than YCM.

[/quote']

lol Well I'm no whiz when it comes to playing Yugioh. But in my opinion it shouldn't be banned, maybe semi. It's powerful, but it will be a hell of a lot harder to get him out.

Excellent plan, let's SEMI-LIMIT a FUSION MONSTER.

well' date=' pretty much the only thing that made that card good in the first place was metamorphosis and maybe magical scientist, though i suppose you could use instant fusion with that, if it came back i dont see any decks reqireing this card in their deck. so unless you think that using instant fusion with this card is ubber broken or i missed something this card would be just fine unbanned

sure would make instant fusion a better card though

[/quote']

Pojo-quality post.

Dark Hex Sealed Fusion can sub Reliquished' date=' this deserves to stay banned

[/quote']

You think that a two-card combo involving Thousand-Eyes Idol makes this card deserve to stay banned?

TER's good' date=' but could have been better. It doesn't grant any immunity against effects, which this meta seems to specialize in. Sure, it's easy to get out with Dark Hex-Sealed and equivalents, but it's not sure to stay on the field for long. The protection effect is only valid via battles, and isn't therefore very good.

My opinion on TER's position in the banlist is either Banned or Limited.

[/quote']

Why does everyone seem to think that Limiting a Fusion Monster is a sensible idea? Seriously, people.

This card wouldn't harm the current meta if it was at 3. It has no protection from effects and is just to slow. It would be hit soon enough by DAD/JD/Snipe/etc.

GBs would be a little screwed' date=' but have answers like Test Tiger or Spell Destruction (which GBs should run).

In a 'perfect ban list', this card would be too powerful. Fusion summoning it would instantly take away two of your opponent's monsters, and many decks will be dead if they're playing against a TER deck. If they don't have a card that gets rid of this, they can't do anything and the opponent will control the field. Off course TER is still slow, but you can for example offer it for a monarch to make the game 'continue', giving you an advantage at the same time.

[/quote']

The current meta is a terrible argument. The current meta is already horribly broken, so they could legalize Black Luster Soldier - Envoy of the Beginning without harming the current meta.

How does this card instantly take away two of your opponent's monsters?

If the second monster taken is by this card attacking, a Fusion Summon of it would need to be via Polymerization + Thousand-Eyes Idol + Relinquished, a three-card combo all of whose elements suck (although a two-card combo with Dark Hex could work for Special Summoning). If the opponent has no monster removal whatsoever, Gene-Warped Warwolf could be a locking card against them.

Keep Metamorphosis banned and then bring this back. With out Metamorphosis it's a lot more inconvenient to bring this out' date=' so it probably won't be abused as much as it was before.

The only thing that I can see working with this is probably Instant Fusion, which would let you take down one opponent monster, and then bring back by something like Angel Lift/Limit Reverse/Monster Reborn/Premature Burial/etc.

TER's good, but could have been better. It doesn't grant any immunity against effects, which this meta seems to specialize in. Sure, it's easy to get out with Dark Hex-Sealed and equivalents, but it's not sure to stay on the field for long. The protection effect is only valid via battles, and isn't therefore very good.

I lol'd.

Cue dramatic music.

Let's assume that Metamorphosis deserves to remain banned. Given this assumption' date=' does it follow that TER should be made legal again?

the fact of the matter if metamorphisis shouldnt be banned, and even if both of the cards where unbanned, it would have very little impact to the meta

but seeing as we are going with the senario that meta is banned then yes why the hell not unbann this?

[/quote']

The current meta is a terrible argument. The current meta is already horribly broken, so they could legalize Black Luster Soldier - Envoy of the Beginning without harming the current meta.

Unban it. See if I care.

Your interest in the matter is irrelevant' date=' especially since your statement that Judgment Dragoon has a 95% chance of being milled reveals that you don't even understand the most basic aspects of this game.

Instant Fusion becomes a 1-on-1 trade off card (with minor life cost) if TER was unbanned.

You're bad at math.

Be less bad at math.

From what I see above' date=' YCM is being stupid.

[/quote']

I don't care what else this post contained. This single sentence makes it one of the best posts in the topic.

Actually, a lot of the rest of the post sucks, as Umbra proceeds to point out.

So far' date=' Pojo is doing better than YCM.

[/quote']

Working as intended.

Naturally.

@Umbra' date=' So, because it can be destroyed it deserves to be unbanned?

So that means the banlist doesn't count by your logic.

[/quote']

First you argue that is works to counter DAD/JD, and now you say that it doesn't. Your arguments are inherently contradictory.

TER needs to stay banhammer'd as much as yata' date=' envoys + time seal.

[/quote']

Your argument lacks justification.

it should be unbanned' date=' but keep metamorphases banned

[/quote']

If it's any consolation, at least YCM is still significantly better than TCGplayer, which want Mask of Darkness to remain Semi-Limited because DDT might abuse it.

EDIT:

Metamorphosis: No. Just no. Too darn powerful.

I couldn't read the rest of this post' date=' as my palm was obscuring my vision.

I don't think it should be banned the same time as metamorphosis. What can we do with it?

Instant Fusion + Monster Reborn, no fusions needed...

You could fuse, maybe a relinquished + a fusion sub, which would wind up in like what, a -2?

Aside from pulling it out, what can it do when on the field?

It can stall. It can attack. It's the only thing that can attack. No OTK's with a full field of monsters for me. Sure, it can take your opponent's monster, which still isn't that bad. Plasma can do it, he's unlimited. Nothing else can change positions. Not a big deal, flip monsters aren't top-tier this format (never were), and who cares if you lose a few LP?

This card isn't incredibly overpowered either... there are so many monster removal cards out there, this thing isn't a threat anymore.

Sure, it might become "slightly" broken if it, Instant Fusion, Limit Reverse, and Angel Lift were all at 3, but limiting those are other discussions in themselves, and I don't want to get off-topic.

My opinion, this card doesn't deserve banning anymore.

If the states of other cards are relevant to the state of this card, it would be beneficial to discuss those simultaneously.

im guessing this is crab trying to troll us again

Last time I was trolling' date=' I created a swarm of lies and swindled people into buying it. But all I did in this topic was open a discussion about TER, without taking either side, making it difficult to be persuading anyone of anything. If YCM makes a fool of itself by simple discussion without me taking either side, that is a problem within YCM.

@Umbra' date=' So, because it can be destroyed it deserves to be unbanned?

So that means the banlist doesn't count by your logic.

[/quote']

Agreed. Just because one card is more broken than another doesn' mean that the later card isn't broken. Thousand Eyes Restrict is nowhere near as damaging to the metagame as Dark Armed Dragon. It's still ridiculous. It turns Instant Fusion into a 1-1 removal, as was said, and then allows for a lock on the battle phase through the use of one of the numerous eligible recursion cards.

That being said, I do have a soft spot for TER for some odd reason. I kind of wish he was legal. Well, no I don't, I just wish Konami would have the sense to make a new, slightly nerfed version of him.

Why does everyone say that it turns Instant Fusion into 1-for-1 removal when it clearly does not?

TER is liek Flame Swordsman

Wow. Just wow.

I know very well that just because a card can be destroyed it doesn't deserve instant un-ban' date=' thank you very much. Just look at Solemn. I'm just saying that with a bit of luck and a bit of strategy, (about a 1:9 rate) TER can be taken down. Evacuation Device. Grand Mole. (Who runs those cards anyway, but still) And I recall someone saying earlier that TER can absorb Plasma. Yeah, good luck on that with the effect negated.

[/quote']

Good luck declaring an attack on TER with Neo-Spacian Grand Mole.

Flame Swordsman is the only good legal TCG card that can be Instant Fusion'd. He edges out Musician King by liek 50 atk. I'm sewious!

but he can't attack making you waste a revival card if you want to use it...

somebody is forgetting reaper of the nightmare...

We already know that Metamorphosis should be made legal. That's not the topic at hand.

Stop trying to insert this card into the current meta. Comparing one card to a series of overpowered cards means nothing.

If you would actually use Instant Fusion on Flame Swordsman because of his ATK, you are doing it wrong.
