Calling all YCM Veterans!

Frunk

Recommended Posts

Remember me?

Well, as you may remember, I retired from full activity a few months ago. I still do something to serve members of YCM though - I write the chronicle.

The chronicle is my brain-child project intended to teach members of this site the history of YCM. I understand reading and history aren't everybody's cup of tea, but if you haven't read the chronicle, I really suggest you should (links in my signature).

Knowing what's what about this site is a way for you to prove that you are not a "noob". Members who know the history of this site gain my respect, and my word, even after all this time, still seems to carry weight.

Anyway, that's not the issue at the moment... Well, not exactly the issue at least. The purpose of this thread is to appeal for veterans of YCM to come forward and flaunt their knowledge. I mean, I already have plenty to write on, but I'll admit right now - I can't remember everything.

So, if you joined YCM before June 22, 2007, please share anything you remember of your early days on the forum with me (i.e. Anything that happened before the aforementioned date). Whether it be a forum war, a key event or discussion, a certain going on - anything really, tell me about it. Post your stories here. Post as many as you want. Even if it's a sentence of reminiscence, share it with me.

If what you share is useful and I use it in the chronicle, you will be credited and rewarded with a rep (and maybe some points too). I want these newer members to learn, so, can you help?!

Cheers and thanks, Frunk.

well im must be the only person posting here with less than 5 stars but whatever...

Heres all i remember...

i started using the card maker January of 2007 and make my first account in febuary and forgot the username and didnt bother with it until June 10th, 2007 (when this account was made).

What i remember most vividly is the card maker (which was a bit choppy) the text was largish and the finished cards looked a bit "off"...i also remember a strict (very strict i'd say) crackdown on siggy sizes by Frunk himself (i was a victim of this crackdown along with other people). The card contest(s) were a little dry and lacked varity so entering one and winning it wasnt really hard if you knew who you were up agianst. From what i remember Falling Pizza and Frunk pretty much ran everything (but im most likely wrong).

i also remember (after some kind of update or whatever....my reps were deleted :P)

and thats all i really remember due to the fact that when i joined i wasn't really a forum monkey or anything.

Thank you for your post my friend.

Unless I've missed something, I didn't start my signature "crackdown" until late July (I could be wrong, as I'm going off the post date of my signature announcment)

Falling Pizza wasn't actually made a moderator until October, and thus he did not help me run the forum (at least, no more than anyone else). I ran the forum solo from the time Danilus left. I'll cover that in Chapter II (the one I am currently writing).

I believe yours reps were removed on June 22, 2007. I think this is when the change of forum hosts occurred (and thus where the timeline for this research sector comes from).

Great idea' date=' Frunk. I would love to hear about the site's history. BTW, What happened on June 22?

It was probley all he could remember up to

Thanks to both of you. As I said above' date=' June 22 is when I believe the forum host swap took place - I'm awaiting YCMaker to confirm this.

Read The Chronicle (in my Signature)

Thank you very much for your support. 8)

Hm.......the only thing I can recall is Silvahbull3tz and his porn masquerade.

What about that whole Sartorism thing and the forum war? Has that been used?

I'll research "Silvahbull3tz" and see if he should be added. Thanks. 8)

Even though Sartorius registered in April' date=' I don't think Sartorism really began until August at least. I think it's likely it will have it's own chapter anyway.

I recall the whole "what are points really worth" thing.

Then there was that Falling Pizza V Dan. in the dancing contest.

I had a fight with Poc.

Oh and another one with abbadon? (name unsure)

Thanks NP. I'll look into those. 8)

To everyone I didn't quote. Thank you very much for your comments. :)
