Gogeta™
Im collecting information on what makes a good card as the name of this thread suggest. So what do you think makes a good card effect, Spell Counters, multi-effects, original effects, just to name a few.

2sick4u
Okay.Names usually follow a minor formula. That is,_____, The _____ of _____.So, filled in, it'd look like:Thobious, The Deity of lightning.Except, not as lame ^_^.Effects.. Well, Special summoning ones are usually quite good, as are multiple choice ones.Eg."This card cannot be Normal Summoned or Set. It cannot be special summoned except by _____"Or the remove from play kind.. But yeah. It's usually stuff like that. Also, for original effects, I've seen a few "Draw one card. Depending on the type of card drawn, activate on of the following effects:"Trap: _________""Spell: _________""Monster:________"Jspamax has made a few, I'm sure he would help you ;].All depends on what you're trying to make..=/.2sick~
J-Max
Jspamax has made a few' date=' I'm sure he would help you ;'].LOL! Glad to know i'm loved for my Cardmaking :P As for a good Monster Card? You have to remember to keep the balance at all times. If your Monster is suddenly going to gain some points put a Drawback (The usual but boring method is things like "Discard one card from your hand") How about something Special like. "You must have a Token on the Field for this monster to attack" I pioneered the Field Monster Aspect where you could have a Special Monster Attack from the Field Spell Zone. It's all about experimentation and brain power. You need an effect that makes sense but is extra Special :) Hope my little Pep Talk helped you. - James Armstrong Over and Out. Bloodrun
ok my friendwhat you think would make a good card, is not what really cuases the effect even a simple 3 sentence effect, could make a good cardit is all how you put the presentation together=)
VainZiler
Effects in and of themselves don't matter, it's how the card can be utilized outside it's intended purpose that makes its value. To design but a single card with the idea of making it grand is futile, as a duel cannot be fought with but one card.
