Darth's Latest Single ~Dark Chest of Wonders~

Parting Shot

[align=center]Oy, my 4th single card in a week or so. I need to start making cards in a set or I'm gonna have to ban myself for flooding :P

This one is another I had the effect for already, and then the talented J-Max found me the pic today on DA.

Lol, thanks Craze and J-Max! ^_^

@Cetanu - Well, this and Infinite Cards work different ways to accomplish similar goals. There's lots of cards in the game that do similar things to other cards. That doesn't necessarily make them bad, it just means you have more options and can be more flexible :P

Thanks for the comments ^_^

This is probably based on the Nightwish song' date=' right? Even if it wasn't, it still caught my attention, so I might as well post a comment.

The "card on another" card concept seems interesting and the picture is great, too. Nice work here, 8.5/10.^_^

Lol, actually that was the name the author gave the pic on DA, and I kept it because I liked it (and because it's a Nightwish song ;)). Thanks for the comments, I'm glad you like it ^_^

I like the concept, although I'm not seeing how it would be useful. The Spell and Trap Card in your hand would probably be better off being set/used/kept in your hand. The OCG's great as far as I can tell. If you made the chest unaffected by card effects so that it would protect your Spells/Traps, it might be a little more useful. ^_^

Pretty good, but underpowered/not too useful.

Thanks Silencer ^_^

@Doom - I think if I protected it from effects then it would be overpowered. This way you have some risk putting any cards on it. And, most Spell Cards can't activate during your opponent's turn, and if they're on this card then they can't be discarded by your opponent during their turn. So, it has some use.

Thanks for the comments ^_^

Maybe a bit underpowered. Maybe reduce the hand size to 4 or 5 cards. ^_^

I had thought about that, and decided against it. The only problem with that is you would have no reason to use it if you had less than 7 cards in your hand, as you wouldn't need to discard.

Thanks for the thoughts, though ^_^

Well, thanks everybody! I'm glad you all like it ^_^

@FM6 - If I reduce the number of cards needed in your hand, then why would anyone use it? You'd have no need to put anything on this card if you didn't have enough that you were required to discard.

Though, I suppose it could merely be for protection if you want to make sure a Spell or Trap is still in your hand during your next turn. I'll consider it. Thanks for the comments ^_^

Thanks for the comments everybody ^_^

But' date=' can anyone tell me exactly how it's underpowered, and maybe offer a few suggestions for how to power it up a little? I would be very grateful if someone could :P

It's because people are better off setting their S/Ts. Risking that your facedown S/Ts might be destroyed while face-down is better than risking that many of your S/Ts could be RFP'd. Not to mention it only works while you have 7 cards in your hand. The only way this'd work is if you had 7 cards in your hand and filled your S/T zones, the chances of this happening are, well, it's never happened for me.

You seem to have not taken just setting cards into account when you made this, as it'll always be better than putting 'em in this chest. So, I'd make it unaffected by card effects. Even them it'd be a -1 for practically no reason, but has more of a use.

So yeah, hate to be harsh, but this is an unusable card as it is. It can't be used for protection from the discard-at-your-End-Phase cost because setting is safer than putting it in the chest, making this a -1 with a potential to harm you even more should it get destroyed while S/Ts are in it. And it's extremely difficult to maintain 7 cards in your hand without losing in today's game.
