Advice to Duelists.

Recommended Posts

So, after watching some rather poorly played duels online, in hopes that players here dont do the same thing I'll give advice. Note this advice is not on deck make up but rather "skills" themself.

1. Play conservatively. With the exception of burn decks you should keep your hand bulky, so that if your plan falls through you can follow up later. For example, why waste that smashing ground on their 1800 attack beatstick so you can get some direct damage if you can save it for bigger threats later on, jinzo ect. It can be tempting but always hang on.

2. Dont 1 for 1 with heavy storm. Seriously, unless your winning the game with your upcoming move dont play heavy storm when your only going to destroy one card, the point of cards like it are to generate an advantage, using one card to destroy two ect. And even then if their chainable they can still get their effects in.

3. Set mst. Dont just draw and play it, unless like heavy storm, your winning then and there. Too many traps are chainable for this to be useful. Set it and activate it on their facedown trap during their end phase. Then whatever they were planning fails because they cant activate it as it's still their turn. Or save it to activate in a chain, eg. you activate ROD, they activate decree, you activate mst.

4. Dont set quick plays till main phase two. Remember you can play quick plays from your hand, so theres no point to setting them until main phase two. Eg. You attack, opponent activate gravity bind/shrink you activate shrink/mst. And if you absent mindedly set one in main phase one you lose the bout.

5. Utilize cards to generate advantage. If your opponent played nobleman and you have a ceasefire or card that could tribute the monster(CCV anyone?) use it. They lose their effect you get yours. Fun fun.
