They dont completely matter but it is important. Summoned Skull isnt better than Jinzo for example.

Wrong. Let's duel; me armed with Summoned Skulls and you with Jinzos. Whoever wins has their beliefs carved in stone.

HOLY S*** I'M ABOUT TO SHOOT SOMEONE.

WINNING PROVES NOTHING.

When will you idiots understand that?

You seem to have forgotten who Grav is.

Grav was parodying those very idiots; hence the line "Whoever wins has their beliefs carved in stone".

ATK/DEF only matter in a relative sense. Life Points matter in a relative sense, too. If a card requires a fixed amount of Life Points as a cost for activation, then having more than that amount matters. Similarly, if one is attacked directly by a monster with a certain amount of ATK, having more than that amount matters. There are many other examples.

However, ATK/DEF are not the first things to be looking at when selecting a card. Life Point cost shouldn't be the first thing that you look for when selecting a card.

Lol, weren't you the one who started the lolATK saying Crab?

Of course Life Points matter. Those that pretend otherwise fail at this game. However, what many people often forget is the purpose of Life Points: They are a buffer which allow you to take direct damage or pay costs without losing the game. If you don't use them as such, than you aren't playing right.

As infuriating as it is for me the hear the people who are overly protective of their Life Points, it is equally infuriating for me to hear the people who show such disregard for them.

For example, Solemn Judgment is a terrible card IF it is not used at the right moment. You need the skill to know which card to negate to stop your opponent's gamebreaking play in it's tracks and shut them down for the turn. If you don't hit the right card, congratulations, you just turned your opponent's MST or whatever into a burn card that inflicted 4000 dmg to your Life Points and self-replaced in terms of card advantage. Tell me this, if such a card existed, wouldn't you be running burn? There are far too many idiots out there halving their Life Points needlessly.
