Fh-Fh
You're in the middle of a trade. You really need the card you are getting, but you're trading a lot for it. Is it worth it? We've all been in that situation one time or another. Blindly going into a trade without knowledge of how much the cards are worth. But in the middle of a tournament, how would you know? This thread will tell you in a nice, easy-to-read, numbered fashion. I: Knowing Prices The center of trading is the price. Not knowing the price of certain cards can get you a bad deal. Here are some helpful tips. 1: Know your prices Print up a list of the prices for all your cards in your binder. That way, if someone offers cold, hard cash for one of your cards, you know how much its worth. 2: Know what you Want Print up a want list and the prices you would prefer, and the actual prices. This way, its almost like trading cash for cash. 3: Always have Access to the Internet If a card comes up that you need, but is not on your want list, check the internet. Today, you can access the internet from your phone, but it is very slow and drains your battery to hell. I recommend an Iphone, DS Internet Browser (Game), PSP, or, quite simply, a laptop. Try to keep it a secret that you are you are using the internet. If you don't have access to the internet, Beckett magazine offers a price guide. Below is a list of websites that contain fair, accurate, up-to-date prices: http://yugico.com/http://www.findyugiohcards.com/http://www.ebay.com II: Dialogue and Location In order to get the best trade, you must find the best place and keep cool. 1: Mind your Manner Don't look too desperate. Looking desperate means the person can jack up the price as much as they want. Remember, there are always more copies out there. 2: Location, Location, Location Usually, the best place to look for cards is UDE events, and the internet. For now I will be talking about real life. When you go to Reigonals, Sneak Preview, etc. there will usually be card shops there, along with other players. The shops are where everything is at, but most only take money. So look for other players. It will make you more trade-experienced, and its a good atmosphere. III: Extra Notes Things you ought to know. 1: Food It sounds ridiculous but I've seen it. Someone buys a large amount of food, and trades it for cards. Go to Reigonals. They may not show it, but people there will beg for food. I recommend getting pizza. They deliver, and they have the big party deals which are perfect (typing this up is making me hungry). Order different toppings. I recommend 6 Pizzas. 2 with sausage, 2 with pepperoni, and 2 with cheese. People usually pay more for sausage. 2: Be Prepared Noobs congregate at sneak previews. Bring E-Heroes and Dark Magicians, and show cards that are hard to find. Also bring side-deck stuff (Prohibition, Dustshoot etc.) 3: Go For The Noobs Look for the little kids. Separate them from their parents, then rip em’ off. I found a little kid with a platinum Allure. Thought it was crap. Got it off him with some Evil Heroes. 4: Organize your BinderSuggested by JesusofChaos™ Post your best trades in front, and worst in the back. Some people stop looking and assume your a noob if they see bad trades at the front. So that’s about it. If you have any suggestions, feel free to post them. Happy Trading! ~Fh-Fh

werewolfjedi
heres 2 more tips, i found they work on grown up players better than kids, 1) tell them that some is looking for that card and was offering a better trade, they usally throw in a norm rare or 2 more, which are sometimes tradable to other adult players since a good number of them know that the rarity of a card doesn't really matter when making decks, as much as they want it to. got union attack (kid bait.) and dark E warlock (my collection.) and a def. draw (the throw in.) for just one goblin zombie. 2)act like their deal is always not good enough or that you don't care when you have a feeling they need the card, or overheard that they are looking for one card that you happen to have, say, " I think i have that card." and they will go looking for it, but beforehand you moved it farther back so they have to go through the other stuff first, that makes them find cards they also want, and gives you more bargining power in the deal. No u got ripped off goblin zombie is worth about 3 times more than all that stuffwhy is it worth so much? just because it happens to be in a top tier deck doesn't mean it's worth a ton, plus my deck beats that one and DAD decks, I only have trouble with GB. the card in question isn't worth that much to me anyway, i have got basicly nothing in terms of zombie stuff, and it isn't good to non-zombie decks, and i don't care that much about the actual price worth of the card, i play and trade, not sell, not many where I play do care about price. that and the fact that he supports his two kids as well in playing the game, I was being nice to him that time. i was just showing that you can get more than a one to one deal if you know what your doing. i got a Democ for intercept, if thats a better example.
