IFL's Tournament Results

Well, I went to; beleive it or not; my first tournament today. I was actually quite suprised there was no Glad Beast Deulists there, and there was only 1 Lightsworn Duelist. The only real reason I posted this is because I think I did quite well for my first tournament.

 

IFL's Deck: GigaOTK (OTK was cheaper then swarm, but suprisingly this deck did well T_T)

 

Note: Yes I know Swarm > OTK.

 

Number of Deulists: 10-15 (In-School Tournament)

 

First Round: GigaOTK vs Dark World

Rounds: 3

Wins: 2

Losses: 1

 

Ok, so to be honest, this wasn't much of a challenge. All he did was basicly use DWD and destroy my Gigaplants, which was a mistake for him because all I did was get them back the next turn. The first turn I won because instead of OTKing I just smacked him 4 times with Gigaplant for game on that duel. The second duel I lost because I had payed half my life points will solemn judgement to negate lightning vortex, and then he used Seven Tools of the Bandit to negate my Solemn Judgement. Then he attacked directly with the King of Dark World, discared the Vangaurd or whatever it's called, and attacked directly with that and a face-up Khaki (The Monkey Thingy). The last duel was funny because I went first, and my opening hand was 2 Gigaplants, Polymerazation, Swing of Memories, and Mass Driver. So that was game on that part, and I felt pretty confident by that time.

 

Second Round: GigaOTK vs Crystal Abundance

Rounds: 2

Wins: 2

 

Ok so this was a bit challenging. I alredy dislike Abundance for obvious reasons, so I was a bit skitty about facing this guys deck. Suprsingly, I won the first round by using Lightning Vortex to send all his Beasts to his spell and trap card zone, and by the time he tried to play a mirror force face down, all of his spell and trap zones were filled up. So by that time I just smacked him with Gigaplants and Blazewing Butterflies for game. The second round made me contiounsly search through my deck via Lonefire Blossom for Gigaplant. Once I got 2 on the field, I used Future Fusion and sent 2 Blazewing Butterflies to the Graveyard. He soon after used MST to destroy it, but luckily I had Dragons Mirror. I activated that, removed 2 Blazewing Butterflies, then I played mass driver for game.

 

Third Round: GigaOTK vs Monarch Synchro

 

Rounds: 3

Wins: 2

Losses: 1

 

This deck pissed me off after the first duel. Left and right, Monarchs freakin' everywhere. He bounced my Gigaplant to the top with the Wind Monarch, removed one of my Gigaplants from play with the Shadow Monarch, and destroyed my Mass Drivers and Future Fusion with the Frost Monarch. So he basicly smacked into me 4 times with diferent 2400 monsters for game. So after that I'm like "Oh noez.". So, the second round, I manage to OTK after the third turn, which made me kinda happy. The third match was really, really interesting. He managed to get Stardust on the field by Synchro Summon, which I soon after Complulsary Evac'd it. But he wasted his monsters on that synchro summon, so I got my revenge from the first round from him attacking me 4 times with dif monarchs, so I just attacked with 3 gigaplants, then activated Mass Driver and tributed 2 of them for game.

 

Fourth Round: GigaOTK vs Batteryman OTK (My game ended here)

Wins: 1

Losses: 2

 

Ok so if you alredy havn't figured out that I had lost this match, then now you know. I had lost twice to Batteryman, which was actually the highlight of my day. I gave him props for being the only one to beat me there. This was actually the finals, because the other people left, and since they left, they were disqualified for leaving by majority vote. So, the first match went pretty fast, Inferno Reckless Summon, Double AA's, ect ect. The second match I had one due to Priority Effect. I widdles down his lift points with Gigaplants, and then I had summoned TCS and he tried to TT it. But I activated my Priority effect and one that round. Ok so by the third round I was actually pretty confident. I had widdled his life points down to 4800 by attacking twice, and then he TT's my Lonefire when I tried to summon it. I had Activated monster reborn, but the Solemn'd it. So after I ended he Reckless Summoned with Double AA's for game.

 

Rank: Second Place (And proud of it, I did freakin' good for my first tournament)

Prize: I made it to the Final 4 duelists, so next week it's a Tournament between the other 4 to see who gets title of Champ. For now, nobody has any titles according to the judge there, but next week for the final 4, titles will be assigned. I plan to win to get first. Hopefully I will.

 

So, please discuss each match and tell me how I did. All critism is accepted besides "SWARM >>>>>>>> OTK RAAAAAAAWRZZZ".

Lucky you. You dont have Gladiator Beasts present in your Meta. I have a thought. Im thinking you couldve won if you ran Giga Swarm but thats mainly because the Giga OTK is too inconsistent for my liking. I think you did very well considering the deck you used.

 

I have Gladiator Beasts in my Meta and its not very fun. I revived Monarchs in my Meta to actually stand a chance against Gladiator Beasts and knock Six Samurai down a spot. I also introduced Lightsworn to my Meta to knock Six Samurai down even further and to basically add competition to my Gladiator Beast dominated Meta..

 

Enough about my Meta. What's your's like roughly?

Thanks for saying I did great for my first tournament. I really appreciate it. Once Christmas hits' date=' and my birthday which is in 18 days (The 25th), I'm saving up for money for GigaSwarm. Then I'll just buy 3 copy plants, 3 BRD, then Bam. GigaSynchro. Although after that, It's Glad beasts so I can Dominate the Meta at my school because like Nobody runs Glad Beasts. Then it's batteryman OTK, then ect ect.

I don't have Grasschoppers, and I need more solemns, and CoSR. ect, ect.

They were actually pretty diffucult, but somehow I managed to get far. But from the deck I was using I geuss they're not all that great.

 

Random Side Note: xD, one guy there named his Crystal Abundance deck 'Crystalicous' xD.
