All right' date=' skip that. Good:JinzoHorrible:Jinzo Lord[/quote'] Jinzo - Lord was in no way horrible until the September 2008 banlist screwed him over. I meant he was horrible for his intended purpose. A card can be horrible for its intended purpose without actually being horrible.
armageddon08
Usually, a card is made to be horrible, but then an amazing use for it is found, and it becomes amazing, thus deserving to be banned or limited. Apparently that wasn't the case with our friend Jinzo-Lord.

However, changes to the banlist made this use impractical.
Blue Lightning
Why did konami limit reasoning and monster gate again?

Phantom Roxas
cause they're idiots Sure' date=' I suppose letting Chimeratech Decks midly playable would be a good idea.[/sarcasm'] Then again, Chimeratech might be just what we need to stop Tele-DAD. *Ponders this for a few seconds* No.
CrabHelmet
Because Chimeratech decks were the format's biggest problem, am I right? Besides, the Turbo version of Chimeratech wasn't exactly mainstream. And if you want to kill Chimeratech, I know who you're supposed to ban. >_>
GenzoTheHarpist
Limiting Reasoning and Monster Gate was a move designed to destroy all forms of the "Turbo Deck" archetype. Chimeratech, DDT, Magical Explosion, RDDT, yeah if you wanted to stop all of these you would have to ban a ton of cards.
CrabHelmet
Limiting Reasoning and Monster Gate was a move designed to destroy all forms of the "Turbo Deck" archetype. Chimeratech' date=' DDT, Magical Explosion, RDDT, yeah if you wanted to stop all of these you would have to ban a ton of cards.[/quote'] None of them were strong enough to have a chance of making an impact - the only exception would have been DDT, but when you've already (rightfully) banned Dark Magician of Chaos and Dimension Fusion, you've already killed DDT, making any further attacks against DDT akin to banning Gearfried the Iron Knight just to be absolutely certain that Butterfly Dagger OTK doesn't damage the meta. Besides, the cards at fault were Chimeratech Overdragon, Dimension Fusion, and Magical Explosion, all of which were practically built for the purpose of pulling off an OTK, and none of which have any real other purpose. (I'm ignoring Rainbow Dark Dragon here because it is less effective at OTKing as Celestial Reckless Saturn.) Reasoning and Monster Gate just make the OTK easier to pull off than it would be otherwise, in the same way that Dark Grepher makes it easier to summon Dark Armed Dragon. armageddon08
Doesn't that mean they should limit Dark Grepher in order to make Tele Dad a little less overpowered?
Blue Lightning
Tele DAD usually just runs 1 Grepher. Agreed with Crab. Theyre limiting reasoning and monster gate to slow down chimeratech and such instead of banning the banworthy cards.
armageddon08
Chimeratech was hurt by the limiting of CyDra, so I don't think limiting this to stop it would do much more than the limiting of CyDra did.
Blue Lightning
But between reasoning/monster gate and CyDra, only one deserves to be on the list
CrabHelmet
Let's not forget that the elimination of DMoC would itself effectively kill Chimeratech Turbo, and indeed most Reasoning Turbo decks. Maybe they thought these cards would be abused with Synchro Monsters or something, but considering that they simultaneously put Malicious back to 3... Blue Lightning
Konami limited CyDra cause of synchros and yet unlimited malicious which is a better target for synchros. Just in case, I think Cydra should be banned because its a hyper agressive beatstick, not becuase of synchros.
armageddon08
Cydra shouldn't be banned as it poses no threat for you opponent when they have an open field.
GenzoTheHarpist
Cydra shouldn't be banned as it poses no threat for you opponent when they have an open field. So you're saying that good players shouldn't summon monsters since then Cydra could be used against them?
