I assumed you both started with 40/40, then subtracted from there.

 

Nightmarian: Your card was as creative as one could expect. You took advantage of an under-used aspect of Yugioh, and you gave it a unique destruction effect based on the same aspect. The picture fit the card well, I doubt a better one could easily be found. Your wording was as good as could be expected. The effect was underpowered, given it's Beast-exclusivity, but it's only underpowered by today's Synchro standards. A perfectly acceptable card.

 

~Colonel Sanders~: I did not judge your card by its contribution to its theme, because that would be unfair. The card did reproduce effects already in existance, but that is not a bad thing in most cases. However, I must judge your card against Nightmarian's, and it lacked a unique flair that Nightmarian's had. The style of the picture you choose did not fit the style of the card itself, in my opinion. Also, I personally was not a fan of the art's style in general. The card was a bit underpowered, but as a Synchro, that doesn't matter nearly as much. A perfectly acceptable card, given a new face.
