I go for a more indirect approach. As lazy as I may be, I still get people to do what I want.

You have only decided that this has been spear-headed by someone who claims to know what's best, and that you're doing what's best by following the delusion. I myself find more satisfaction in defending my own opinion vividly than charading myself into loving thy neighbor. What now? Someone who isn't under your banner of 'we', someone who doesn't approve of the sub-par bullshit you're whining about? For christ sake. It's the Internet. Get a thick skin or gtfo.

 

It is obvious that this may not be the best decision, but that i am choosing a side that i feel is the best, and not the side that has the best odds of winning. Your opinion consists of a mildly spammy and flaming world that gets worse and worse as long as people have something to degrade so they can make themselves look better. my opinion consists of a world where people can help others and not get flamed when trying something new. i wonder what you think of your own opinion now?

 

You trust. You believe. You hope. You take no independent recourse nor contribute anything towards the result besides your approval. You're the worst kind of thing when it comes to change. You're the fat-guy in the lawn chair; watching everything change around him while he smiles in approval at it. And then, he retreats into his house only to continue as he was before. You're a free-loader. You conform based upon who's name or title it is, not the words they say. As such; I doubt any change, nor hope in change, can come from you.

 

but i do. i defend this idea. i support and try to make this come together. i will pass this on to other people. this might make me the "fat guy in the lawn chair" who happens to call his friends about the idea, but i make part of a little difference, which is enough for me. why do you choose sides simply because they have better odds, even though they do not lead to the better solution?

 

People don't get it. Change is an improbable practice when the majority is already the opposite. Sure; you can charade the success of change for a while; but people conform back to how they were before. They always do.

 

That, and I approve of Shanoa. She doesn't give a sh-t; which, in my mind, is one of the best things you can do.

 

Change may very well be an improbable practice, depending on whether the people of YCM choose to make this come alive, and it may very well change back, but it will happen again, and again, until it says for real. that is the truth

 

yet Shanoa is the "lawn chair person" you described. manipulating people for her own will and doing nothing herself. giving her approval of what her minions do and nothing else. so if i am the "lawn chair person" i am also doing one of the best things you can do, yet you despise it?

In fact, I rarely get mad. I can keep calm during an argument, which typically drives the other person mad.

 

best way to win an argument. people can become so mad that their ignorance clouds them from calm judgement

I have to agree there but I still think that YCM has been getting more angery people using this as a vent rather than a place to have fun.

 

i used to be angry, but i changed and help this place grow, even if only a little.

Few people. When can a few people bring change? The only thing a few people can do in order to bring change is to recruit new people. I highly doubt starting a rebellion for change on a Yu-Gi-Oh! forum is going to do so. Plus; on your little "If we do it enough, someone will care." thing, all I have to say is Draco Straybyrn.

You assumed my opinion. If you actually read in detail, I never stated my favorable outcome. My outcome is one were people don't disagree; were people appreciate what's there and choose to not strike the Forum for what's not. Mediocrity; I guess. Being contempt. Being blissful for what the Forum is, not for who it has. Spam? Who gives a sheet. Ignore it. Flaming? If done so intelligently; it's not unbearable to watch. Your opinion is a fairytale look that's somewhat similar to what your parents told you the Real-World is like when you're six years old. People don't help people. People strive for self-betterment. The only time people help people is when self-betterment is a directly result of which. So, I say, what do you think of your opinion now, knowing it is indeed unobtainable?

Will pass this on to other people? What are you trying to make of attitudes on a Forum? They're mere, minor and barely account to anything. However, when it comes to your opinion of myself choosing a winner outside of a moral sense; I'll tell you again that my ideal outcome is a positive one. However; I was expressing that you cannot control freedom. You cannot control others to conform to your way. Doing so is both funked and unlikely.

That isn't the truth. The improbability of change comes from how you cannot direct it. The result of change isn't predictable. Saying that it'll be one thing and then another continuously is wrong.
