But he was being racist to my friend. I wasn't going to stand there going "dopey-dopey-do!" I took action' date=' so we should both be punished.

I know, but somehow, being racist to white people isn't anywhere as serious as being racist to black people. After all, we haven't had the same history as they have.

Y'all really need to get back on topic. My question is and was' date=' why did I get detention and not the other kid?

[/quote']

I am normally not a racist' date=' or even an angry person, but this dude pushed the limit.

Instead of boring your time with the details, this [i']African-American[/i] dude was being racist against my friend. My best friend since I was 6.

So I called him a, poor, fat-ass, black, bastard.

And now I have a 3-day detention.

Discuss how moronic the teachers were for hearing me being racist and not that a******, or discuss racism as a whole.

PS, sorry for my swearing, but note that I normally do not swear.

It appears that we have not gone off-topic.

I would assume that the genius that blurted out a very racist comment would be more deserving of the detention than the kid who was being accused of being racist.

You said you didn't want to bore us with the details, so I can't really understand the whole situation, now can I?

What did you tell the teachers to explain your rude outburst?

The whole scenario was this:

1.) I was walking down the hallway to go to my locker.

2.) I saw my friend and he was talking to this black kid. I assumed they were friends.

3.) I heard the black kid cursing and making racist remarks to my friend.

4.) "...poor, fat-ass, black, bastard."

5.) Teacher walks by and hears my racist comments, but not the black kid's.

6.) I say that I was defending my friend.

7.) Teacher says you should have just gotten a teacher to help you.

8.) I get detention.

Step number 7 really irritates me. It goes back to my example of me punching you in the face. You can either:

1.) Stand there and scream, "Help!"

2.) Punch me back in self-defense.

While punching is not that close to racist comments, I chose option 2.

Being racist to ANY other race is more serious that racist to white nowadays anyway

Hmm

I can understand why you did that, if someone insulted my best friend I would flip, we all do stuff in the heat of the moment, you say he was racist to your friend? Then he should be in detention also.

I'm not condoning Racism, far from it I think its F****ng disgusting but Eye for An Eye...

that's how most people see it: you don't use the eye for an eye concept, some people never learn (it was very common for racism back in the 60s)
